Kehena Treetop Bungalow-Near Black Sand Beach

We enjoyed staying in the bungalow. Beautiful neighborhood which gave us a feeling of actually living here. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom with lots of towels and plenty of tableware and storage items. Black sand beach very close, but beware...a somewhat strenuous climb down & back up at the beach from parking lot. It is also clothing optional :) Host was terrific and quick with response. Loved the hammock on the lanai. I would call it a 2 bedroom as there is a door and curtains between the beds with separate exit doors.

We enjoyed our stay, I felt like I was in the rain forest!

We purposely chose it to be further away from the Hilo busy area but it’s still close enough to Pahoa if you have a car so you can pick up groceries etc. Close to a small black sand beach. Also good for visit the nearby beaches/shops of Hilo if you have a car. And don’t forget the Volcano National Park. We were lucky to be there when the volcano was active and got to view the eruptions - amazing!

Very comfy, full kitchen, nice lanai space, great entertainment system...:)...

We brought our kids on a Hawaiian vacation, and we LOVED our stay! It was fully stocked, clean, and a great location. We enjoyed the neighborhood kitty, and the relaxing environment of the home. Would highly recommend to any travelers!

It's a bit of a drive from town but thoroughly enjoyed being far from tourist traps and resorts. The local wildlife song of frogs and birds lulled us to sleep every night. Very timely response from the property manager as well when we couldn't figure out the hot water. Would def stay again!

Very authentic little house in the middle of the nature. Well maintained even that it is a bit older. The fresh air is amazing, no air conditioning needed. However the location is a bit too far in the nature (long distance, moskitos, geckos) for us, also the bed size could be bigger. We enjoyed the experience here.

We were a little disappointed that it was right on a fairly busy road on one side and very close to the neighbor on the other. The black sand beach right up the way and that was wonderful, otherwise not too much in the area as places to eat. Bring your own to fix. We had to shorten our trip as the rains were coming down in torrents. Sorry that was the case. Loved the outside shower
