Just Shellaxin #167 - Ocean Views, Private Pool & Hot Tub, Dog Friendly!

This is the second time we have stayed in this house. It’s literally perfect for our family. It had everything you would need, the pool is great if you have little ones or need a break from the beach, and beach access is really close. The ONLY negative I can say is that when we stayed in 2023 we had a great view, and in 2025 they are building a house DIRECTLY in front of it so you can barely see the ocean between the houses. It was really disappointing. Overall though, beautiful house, well maintained, loved the decks. The washer did have some mold in it and the cleaning was questionable, but nothing enough to take away from the house itself. Our family would definitely recommend! Thanks for a great vacation! :)

Pool and hot tub were clean and a great way to start or end your beach day. Kitchen was very well equipped. Wish there was seating at the table for everyone or at least a chair of the same height that could be used. Other suggestion would be a grill by the pool area as well as more outdoor seating. I would absolutely rent this house again. The construction noise from across the street was only audible on one day and it wasn’t too bad. The community and boardwalk was safe, clean and well maintained.

At high tide, there is almost no beach. Leaving the island on Saturday was the worst experience I've had on a Carolina beach vacation. It took 2.5 hours to get over the bridge - no accidents, no construction and no police help. With all the info you get from the management company, you would think they would give a little advice that you need to leave the island before 8 on Saturday. I'm shock the owners and rental companies haven't raised this issue with the city government. Great house, but we won't be back to Topsail during the summer months.

We needed to contact Landmark Management a couple of times during our trip and they were extremely prompt and attentive. The house is beautiful and was impeccably clean. It had all of the supplies we needed to cook nearly every meal at home (we hardly ever went out for food). Appliances are all in working order, the pots and pans were so great I think maybe they were brand new! The wifi is speedy with four adults and two teenagers on devices and streaming TV at night, there were no problems. We'd recommend Landmark and this house specifically to anyone!

Text 9:30am Monday again. they stated they put a request in. didn't hear from them on Tuesday and text them again. Replied they would be there between 4-7. Came Tuesday and fixed. Had to thaw out motor and system running to Fridge. Three days of warm food and drinks.

The master suite is upstairs on the third floor so the grandparents stayed up on the third floor while the rest of us were on the first floor and less likely to disturb the grandparents. The neighborhood is quiet and well kept. It is a drive from most of the restaurants on the island but we prefer to cook and stay in. We love our time at this house each year!

Unfortunately we were there during a tropical storm and were grateful for the pool and hot tub as the beach was basically flooded. My only suggestions would be to have containers for storage of left over food and more board games and puzzles geared toward kids. The one 1,000 piece puzzle that was there we finished in 24 hours. Of course that could have been due to the ugly weather. Also, one bath towel per person for a full week is not adequate, two would have been appreciated. All that being said, we would rent the house again as it was very comfortable for an extended family.
