Jim Thorpe minutes away! Cozy Cabin, Peace & Quiet in Private Lake Community!

Wonderful home. We really felt comfortable.

This was our first time doing this, and it was so simple. Vert quick response from our hosts. We had an amazing weekend, close to everything we wanted to do. We will definitely be back for a late fall or early winter trip!

This house was very nicely decorated and nicely supplied for cooking. The living room furniture was super comfortable and encouraged gathering. Wifi/TV/DVD/and even videotapes were available. Kids books were in one bedroom. Clearly, a great place for dogs because of tethers by the door and a big, open wooded area behind the house. The only reasons I rated it good instead of excellent is that the house seemed a bit musty and carpets were aging and had a mild odor. Although all the appliances and bed and bathroom were clean, the house needed a dehumidifier and some updated carpets to feel clean. Perhaps that's because the house was in the woods and because it rained one day, so take that impression with weather in mind. Note that the lake that is mentioned in the profile is currently closed because of contamination (Aug. 9). Some of the instructions sent to us were out of date, such as needing lake passes and dump permits. The queen bed is very soft, so you're in luck if that's the way you like it. Overall, if you are picturing yourself going to a cabin with the kids and the dog, and you like a place that feels like home without needing anything fancy, this is a good place to go -- and priced accordingly.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. It was clean and had all the amenities that we needed for a quiet and peaceful getaway in the Poconos. Loren, the owner, was very responsive about our booking. She even emailed the day before check-in with instructions for contactless check-in, what to expect and bring etc. The cabin is in a great location - within 20 minute drive of nearby attractions (Hickory Run State Park, Lehigh Gorge State Park, town of Jim Thorpe, etc). Loren is a great host and made the cabin such an inviting place for our stay!

The perfect getaway cabin for the weekend with the family. It was the perfect distance from Jim Thorpe. It was also close to Hickory Run and Lehigh Gorge State Parks which we also visited. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful area BUT this place has a mice infestation and so we cut our stay short. We smelled them as soon as we entered. Then they came for our food and left droppings in the kitchen. Really sad that the owners knew of this problem but claimed that an exterminator and acknowledged that the problem hadn’t been fixed. We were worried about risks to our dog’s health due to leptospirosis, parasites etc. So disappointed as we had really wanted to visit Jim Thorpe.

My wife and I had an amazing stay here! Cabin was as nice as advertised. Only 20 minutes from down town Jim Thorpe, and from several different hiking trails. If you are looking for a nice, clean, cozy cabin to stay in to experience everything Jim Thorpe has to offer, this is it!

Nice little house very comfortable and relaxing. Easy check-in and had everything we needed. House is nice and private and located at a perfect spot. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning in the future. The only thing that the owners may want to think about is updating the living room furniture especially the one recliner which is very worn and loose. This did not bother us since it was only two of us we did not use it anyway.The house was very cozy!! Very much enjoyed our stay.

The property was as advertised and good proximity to Jim Thorpe, PA. It was clean and well kept. The check in process was easy and the owners communicated well. Would certainly recommend to others visiting this area.

The cabin was beautifully decorated with outdoors charm and is the perfect place to enjoy this area. I appreciated that so many amenities were included, it was clean and well maintained. Only a couple minor issues. The Keurig machine did not work. I was going to bring my own coffee maker but saw there was a Keurig in the listing so I brought k-cups. There was a lot of Big Mack Dump trucks going back and forth on the street so it was not as quiet as I would have liked. I guess it’s getting built up in the area. I also wanted to mention, there were half smoked cigars left in an ashtray on the deck when I arrived.

Private cottage in the woods. Morning and evening we had deer wondering the yard! Very quiet location, houses are spread out nicely and rarely heard a car. House is perfect for small family and very clean. Great location for exploring Hickory Run, Lehigh Gorge and Jim Thorpe.

We had a great weekend get away. The cabin was perfect for our family of 3. We went to Hickory Run State Park and checked out the boulder field and we did a couple hiking trails. The one trail led you to see Hawk Falls. Both were great experiences for our 9 year old. We also spent a lot of time by the fire and enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and wildlife.
