Stayed Oct 24, 2025Nice location walkable to the lake. From inside the house, views of the lake are limited. We walked the short distance to the lake and enjoyed a wonderful night sitting lakeside near the fire pit.

Stayed Oct 11, 2025Everything that could have possibly went wrong did go wrong at the outset of our trip: the Heat wouldn't work, the electricity went out in the common areas, etc. Nevertheless, I am giving Nate a 5-Star review for his property because of how quickly he responded to everything, even getting a Handyman in very late at night to fix everything and get us up and running so that on Day 2 we were having the time of our lives. Thanks Nate - we are grateful for your slice of Ironton paradise and will be back!

Stayed Jun 14, 2026The farmhouse is NOT lakeshore/lakefront. The lake is across the street behind the trees. There is a remote access. The firepit at the yard was muddy, and grassy. The firepit at the shore was crowded for 4. The dock that was supposedly good fishing was unstable/ shaky. This property is very misrepresented on the VRBO site. The farmhouse is old, not quaint, it was dirty and not set up for vacationers. It seemed to be a storehouse for other items not needed by users. All surfaces had misc items and there really wasn’t space for our things. The cupboards were dirty, I washed anything I used first. The ceiling was peeling and nothing was updated. The oven was gross. It had well water with a very high iron/sulphur content, the smell was unpleasant and it was certainly un drinkable. We were definitely disappointed in these accommodations as they were not up to usual VRBO standards. It made for an unpleasant time, but we stayed away for the most part. The outdoor areas were muddy, dirty, outside furniture and grill need attention, unusable. Do you folks at VRBO do inspections periodically? I have pics if needed. The area was lovely. We enjoyed Petoskey, Charlevoix, the ferry right there, and the Landing restaurant. We are fine with ‘roughing it’ but that wasn’t our plan this trip. Too bad it was poorly misrepresented. It was an unpleasant experience. Not worth what we paid.

Stayed May 22, 2026Eight people (including kids 5, 3 and 4 mths) found that this home had something for everyone. The beach, the ferry, a restaurant/bar and outdoor spaces kept us busy. When it was cold and rainy we took advantage of the game table and listened to records. It was important to us that there was open floor space to roll around so we had plenty of room to play

Stayed May 14, 2026Our host Nate really went the extra mile, and provided firewood and a ready made fire down at the beach for us. We forgot to bring a bluetooth speaker, and he hustled over 2 of them for us to use right away! The property is charming and well appointed with extra’s that made our stay wonderful ( Bottled water, paper towels, good supply of cooking pots and utensils. Communications were always answered in a timely manner from Nate. I would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful getaway Up North or for a family event like a Wedding. We will be back for sure!

Stayed Jan 1, 2026This home had wonderful old farmhouse charm and was perfect for our family ski trip to Boyne. There was plenty of room for everyone, and we had a great stay. Nate was a fantastic host with excellent communication—he even shoveled and salted the walk before our arrival, which we really appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Aug 18, 2024Great space and location for family vacation. We brought bikes and a canoe and were familiar with the area from multiple family camping trips. We love the outdoors and the location on the water allowed us to go on sunrise paddles have a couple lakeside campfire hot dog roasts and s'mores. Nate was awesome and so responsive before and during the trip! He provided firewood and drinking water, and lots of great advice about things to do including local resources when we had a car issue. The free pedestrian ferry ride to the lakeside restaurant was a nice perk. We have several runners in the family and since the road dead ends at the ferry, the roads felt very safe for running. The house had ample space for our group, and we cooked a few meals in the well equipped kitchen.
