Great house with beautiful location. Beach access is a little difficult, but we had enough people that we also rented the house next door, so all worked out. Lots of space in the house. All rooms are adequate size for families. We hope to return.
The house and location is just gorgeous, it has a wonderful view. The water is really clean. Private beach was great for kids to play in the water as well as sand. Property owner and manager both were very friendly and helpful. Property owner Mindy was great in communication and answering any questions we might have. Huge house with enough place for everyone. Enough open space for kids even inside the house. They provide kayak and life jackets which was great. Very clean and neat property. Will definitely suggest this place and will go back for sure myself.
We hosted a 50th wedding anniversary weekend for my parents with multiple families staying the weekend. We all thoroughly enjoyed the house as it was the perfect spot for such a large group. Everyone was happy with their rooms, the beds were comfortable and the host provided so many amenities such as dish soap, hand soap, shampoos, etc. It really allowed us to walk in and immediately start enjoying the beautiful property.
Kids enjoyed swimming. Beach very nic
Great open main floor. Perfect for group activities. Since there is no screened porch, I was concerned about bugs in the evening. But sat outside and did not get one bite! Convenient second kitchen and family room downstairs. All bedrooms and bathrooms are a good size. Beach was great for small children through adults.
Several families enjoyed their stay here
e just spent a week at Inchgarth. Two adults, and five teens, plus one dog. While it was sometimes inconvenient to have no indoor access between the floors, it was nice to be able to give one group of teens their own space (the boys). Overall the house is set up well. In fact, there are some things we brought that we didn't end up needing, because they weren't listed as included items - hair dryers, beach chairs. (There are plenty of beach chairs.) We cooked dinner every night and found the kitchen to have most everything we needed. Note: the grocery stores are far, like 45 minutes. Buzzy's Store and Ridge Market don't have much more than booze and a few snacks, although the Dollar General was convenient and had more than we thought it would. In general, be prepared for not a lot of activities nearby or things for kids to do. The listing advertises your own private beach, but due to the large rocks that statement is only true for a few hours a day during low tide. Our kids were kind of disappointed. Inchgarth feels like a house that was very well stocked....ten years ago. The kayaks (2) only have one working paddle between them. There are things that neighboring houses have that Inchgarth does not - water floaties, gas grill, that would be good to have. The house itself desperately needs to have the outside power-washed; it's covered in dead bugs and spider webs. Also there is a large section of soffit coming off one side that flaps in the wind. The deck is crowded, albeit with nice Frontgate furniture. Furniture inside includes ripped leather and pleather seating - an easy fix but one that has not been made. Slipcovers are filthy. We heard through the grapevine that the owner is a D.C. lobbyist who owns 10 of these homes; she should give them some attention. I had contacted her twice with questions, but never got any response. In sum, it was not a bad time at Inchgarth at all but we will not go back.
The house was just right for our get together. Plenty of space to gather, play, eat, and relax. The location was a perfect meeting spot for visitors coming from The Jersey Shore, Myrtle Beach, and Cleveland.
This was our 3rd trip to the area and you cannot beat the location…it is absolutely beautiful. The house accommodated our family of 14 perfectly. Scotland has become our favorite place to vacation. The kitchen is adquately equipped. Outdoor fire pit was nice and plenty of chairs for around the fire. The family liked the outdoor shower. Crabs were plentiful but the house could use a steamer pot. Property management was very responsive. Great place for a family vacation!
This property was great for our family getaway, there was plenty of room for everyone, the adults and kids enjoyed the private beach and swim area in the bay, was especially nice for the little kids as it was shallow for a good way and the waves were gentle, they never wanted to get out of the water. The older kids loved crabbing and fishing at the inlet up the beach a little ways and they enjoyed kayaking ( brought our own but 2 were supplied.) We enjoyed having fires every night in the fire pit and Elizabeth was always a call away when we needed more fire wood. We like to experience different locations every year but all the kids definitely want to come back here!!
We enjoyed it, it was a sunny time, some calm days with our full beach some windy days with some surge leading us to share the neighboring properties also owned by the same person... 7 bedrooms and many baths made it easy to have us all with our own rooms including kids... near by inlets make for a kayaking and crabbing adventure and finding rocks and shells and drift wood... Good space for indoor playing and we pulled some table together and were able to sit 15 together pretty easily.
We loved the setting and the views. We watched the osprey feeding their young from the deck. We saw bald eagles and pelicans fishing. The kitchen was fabulous, our cooks loved it. It was great to have the number of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate the family members. It was so nice to be in an area that was not commercial at all. A happy place for us.
We had a wonderful week at Inchgarth. Eight adults- Grandma and Grandpa (us), three adult kids and spouses, and three grandkids ages 5 years to 10 months old. There was lots of space for privacy, and great space for us to be together for meals and stargazing. The pluses for this property included: The beach outside our door, the friendly locals who didn’t mind us tromping through or using “their” beach for sandcastles, the kayaks, nearby jungle-like estuary, responsive caretakers, crabs to catch and eat for dinner! We cooked all our own meals at the house, in the nicely appointed kitchen. Groceries were not too far away when we needed things. This place is among our favorites of the past eight years, agreed upon by the whole family. The downside- biting flies down by the estuary. Be sure to bring bug spray, or even better, bug resistant clothing.
