Stayed Sep 12, 2025Loved the proximity to everything, walkable to so many things right in Vineyard Haven. 2 min drive to Stop and Shop and the ferry. Easy drives to all areas of MV. A nice back porch for relaxing. Perfect weather didn't hurt!

Stayed Sep 18, 2025The home felt like I was walking into a families home. I would call it Grandma Chic. The old books, furniture, etc was like a time capsule. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfy and the space was perfect. The location to town was walkable.

Stayed Aug 30, 2025We had a wonderful stay. The house is charming and the owner communicative and the perfect level of attentive. It was a treat to be able to walk to town. House was well cared for, had beautiful details and a lovely book collection. Love an outdoor shower! Also it was so generous to have access to beach accoutrement. The king bed was very comfortable.

Stayed Jul 5, 2025We LOVED this house for our MV vacation! The location is fantastic. It's quiet, yet just a few blocks to downtown Vineyard Haven, the water and the ferry. Everything inside was clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning worked well, although the week we were there, it wasn't terribly hot. The beds, the kitchen, the living room, the bathrooms...all were comfortable, well-stocked, well-appointed, exactly as described. And Darlene was a fantastic host! She kept in touch via text and made sure we had everything we needed. The only thing I would say is that it is a Cape-style home, so it is a bit cozy, but that's the nature of Capes. It was great for our family of four. Everyone had their own space and privacy. We would happily, happily come back here again. Of all the places we've ever stayed on the island, this one is our absolute favorite!! Thanks so much!

Stayed Jun 21, 2025Unfortunately, it was like staying at a your great aunt's old home. Yes, that is authentic, which is the nicer way of saying musty; meanwhile, it is intended for summer stays, and the fans were insufficient, and everyone was sweltering through the nights, as the temperature never dropped below 83F in the house, even at night. The TV was 20 years old and 20 inches, much of the furniture was of a quality you would donate to Goodwill, and some was low quality and broke with normal use. The fact that the owner would potentially exploit that situation to charge us for their poor quality furniture is frustrating and galling. It is also less than satisfying to be told after booking that we need to bring our own linens and towels, a point that should be extremely prominent before deciding to rent the property. Sure, you can pay extra to rent or bring your own, but we're paying rent and cleaning fees to not have to make and strip the beds.

Stayed Sep 12, 2024I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact the house is not air conditioned and the back porch is very small. There is a small window a/c unit in a bedroom on the second floor, but it does not cool the entire house. The host has provided floor fans for each bedroom. The house is fragrance free and does not appear to have mold/mildew in the first and second floors. You can walk to the center of town. You have to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels, and washrags. Make your ferry reservations as soon as you confirm your dates.
