This property worked well for our first visit to South Dakota and all of its attractions. The location was convenient to reach the national parks, Custer state park, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and the 1880's train which is right next door. The property is spacious and the owner was helpful in providing chairs to take to the buffalo roundup so that we did not have to pack and bring them. We appreciated the proximity to Main Street Hill City.
Fabulous location to everything. Condition of the property was run down, poor linens, bedding & cobwebs galore. Very well outfitted for a wonderful stay if it was cleaned. Door frames coated with dirt & webs & door screens all poorly functioning. Location is the trump card!
Very nice place in a quite area to relax. We spent time on the front porch watching the deer , and train come and go. We spent time in the back sunroom playing games as a family. The house has plenty of space for everyone. The home is centerly located to travel in any direction to various daily outings.
We loved the home, I would definitely stay there again..
Liked the area and being close to downtown.
Space, location and comfort: if you’re into these things, this rental works perfectly.
Location was perfect for the things we wanted to do. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The owner is friendly and responsive. What more could you ask for?
Wonderful house and fantastic location with a picture perfect view overlooking the 1880 train. Plenty of room for kids. Hill city is also welcoming with a good variety of shops and dining choices.
We had excellent communication with the property manager before and during our stay. They took care of issues as they could and communicated with us when workers would come to make repairs, only allowing them in with our permission. There were plenty of places to sleep, plenty of space with the added sun room, and plenty to do. We saw deer on the property, and could watch the 1880 train (which we HIGHLY suggest) daily from the porch. The griddle style grill outside was all we needed for pancakes, burgers, eggs, and sausage. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance, and the Mickelson trail is just down the hill across the highway. We would stay here if we ever vacation in Hill City again.
We had a great time being together. It is very convenient.
We had a wonderful time! There was plenty of room and we had everything we needed to prepare wonderful meals. Everyone was very happy with the house!
Location for us was excellent. We were close to downtown for restaurants, groceries, and fun shops. Miscommunication on our booking so suggest double checking on your reservation. Many light bulbs were burned out throughout the house and the microwave was filthy. Everything else was very clean.
Excellent experience. House was perfect for our group of 7. Very comfortable and clean. Hill City is and adorable little town and close to all the sites.
Property was comfortably furnished and well supplied. Plenty of individual beds/spaces for all. It also was very convenient having a washer and dryer in the house.
The house was in a great location - it is less than an hour from Custer, Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Wineries, etc,. Within walking distance of main area of Hill City, but far enough away to be quiet. The house was very nice and better than the pictures portray. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and many supplies were provided. We spent much of our time on the front porch and front picnic table overlooking downtown, the train station, and the many deer that happen by. We would definitely stay here again.
Kitchen well stock. We loved the picnic table in front to watch the trains. The grill was great, we ate supper every night using the grill. The girls loved watching the deer. Enough towels. We did not turn on any TVs in the evening with too much to do in the area the girls were tired. Thank you Linda for sharing your home
Very nice cottage overlooking the 1880 train station. Watch the steam train get ready from the front porch. Wonderful central Black Hills location. Great host. Nice kitchen, living space, back inclosed porch, and decks.
Every thing was as said and will be back at same place again next year .. loved the house and the city !
