Stayed Jul 16, 2024The house is immaculate and superbly equipped. It was a real bonus having the orchard, which is south facing. The property is based in a wonderfully kept little village, about a mile from the nearest small town, La Ferte Mace. Very few vehicles pass the house during the day, so it is idyllic and perfect for a relaxing holiday. We were very impressed with the quality of items in the house and everything you could possibly need was there. Communication with Laurent is first class and Chantal who greeted us and was there on our departure was charming. We highly recommend this property and indeed have already recommended it to family and friends. Thank you Laurent and Chantal for a perfect stay.

Stayed Aug 3, 2023We arranged our arrival time and was met when we got there. We were shown round and had everything explained to us that we needed to know about the equipment, facilities and the waste disposal routine. Although the property is a little way from shops and other town/village facilities, it proved an ideal base to explore all the tourist area towns and villages of Normandy. Thanks again Laurent for the use of your delightful residence. Malcolm Baines

Stayed Jun 20, 2023Four elderly adults and what a fantastic stay we had. The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable. The gardens were filled with apples, pears and cherry trees. This is where we relaxed on the comfortable loungers. We did visit various local towns but we just wanted to return to the cottage to chill. Our 10 day holiday was primarily to recharge our batteries and that is just what we did. If you want an uninterupted break away then look no further. Of course the weather was gorgeous which was the icing on the top. Chantal greeted us and came to say goodbye which was lovely. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed Oct 16, 2021We stayed in October in the house and it was simply lovely. Everything you need is available! The house was clean and the contact with Laurent and Nicole was perfect. From the house we visited several things, such as the invasion beaches, Le Mont Saint Michel, Le Mans and other places. Al within 1.5 hour drive which makes it a perfect place to stay. Also the village is nice with multiple supermarkets and other shops. And of the course the lake is perfect for in the summer :-) One point for consideration is maybe the beds, they are pretty small for bigger people like myself (1.87 meter) and my wife (1.75 meter). All with all we enjoyed it a lot and want to thank Laurent and Nicole for the pleasant stay.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This charming house is set in a quiet location in the countryside just outside the small town of La Ferte-Mace which has several bakeries, cafes, a useful supermarket and a Thursday market. The house has everything needed for self-catering, including sun loungers to lie on in the shade of the orchard. There are many interesting walks and places to visit in the surrounding Parc Naturel and we enjoyed an excellent week exploring the area. The owner and his wife made us feel very welcome, especially as we booked late as Covid-19 restrictions to France eased.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We rented this property in Normandy for a quiet break - just the two of us, and couldn't havebeen more pleased, as we'd booked rather last minute. Normandy has so much to offer and this proved to be the perfect base to roam from, but the town itself is interesting, with its narrow streets and architecture full of history. The house could easily accommodate four very comfortably, and is set in a well kept village location just a few minutes from town and ten minutes from a good sized LeClerc supermarket. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with a well-equipped kitchen with everything you could need. It's a very quiet location and being able to sit outside in the evening was a real treat, as there is a lovely pear and apple orchard, which we were invited to take fruit from. The minimal light pollution allows for really clear views of the stars at night. Les Bagnoles D'Orne is a short drive, but St Malo and Mont St Michel are within easy striking distance and added a very pleasant coastal element to our stay. Falaise, Alencon, Argentan, Le Mans and the Sarthe region provide more than enough variety, especially if you check out where local markets are open. The owners could not have been more helpful, and even repatriated a jacket we'd left there - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, so thank you very much Laurent, Chantal and Nicole. This was a break to remember. We would happily recommend this lovely property without hesitation, and will surely be back again, but for a longer stay - a week was great, but a longer stay would provide more opportunities, including the fast and reasonably priced train connection to Paris from a nearby town. A great example of Normandy hospitality.

Stayed Aug 25, 2018My family and I had a wonderful week's stay at the end of August. The house was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable, and it's in a very quiet neighbourhood. There was a welcome hamper from Laurent (merci beaucoup), and we were given permission to take some apples and pears from the garden. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a dishwasher, and the dining table was big enough for us to be able to spread our plates out on. The location was great: La Ferté-Macé is just a couple of minutes' drive and has boulangeries and many other shops. There is a supermarket with a 24-hour petrol station too. The whole town came alive for the Thursday market, from which we bought some really tasty produce. The beautiful spa town of Bagnoles-de-l'Orne is 10 minutes away and well worth a visit. We even did Paris for a day - a 20-minute drive to Briouze (free parking at the station) and a 2.25-hour train ride is all it took. There's even a bus from Bagnoles that connects with the train. We also did Mont-Saint-Michel (we got there early and had seen everything just as it was getting busy), Le Mans, and a wonderful but moving museum in Falaise. The three of us had a great week, and we wholeheartedly recommend this house as a great base to holiday from.
