Camden is the most picturesque village in Maine. It has recently been voted one of America's 20 most beautiful towns! Pour your coffee in the morning and wander down to see the tall ships sail away and enjoy scenes of active harbor life. Then, enjoy our famous library or have a walk down Main Street to discover small local shops and cafes that area part of the fabric of the town.

If you are a walker, go straight down Chestnut St. and you will end up at Aldermere Farm and Rockport Harbor, or hike up to Mt. Beatty, which is straight up the street behind us. Life in Camden is, truly where the mountains meet the sea. All is within a few minutes' walk. We are not on the water. We are a 5 minute walk to all that Penobscot Bay offers.

Camden has something for everyone. Whether it is summer or autumn, whether you are a hiker, sailor or shopper, there are special memories to be made here.

Our village home is a short walk to Penobscot Bay. Everything is within walking distance. It is a perfect retreat for one or two couples. The second floor has a master suite with a spa tub and room to do your yoga, plus a large guest room with an adjacent bathroom and shower. The main floor has a fully stocked kitchen, a dining room, a living room with a fireplace and a 45-inch flat screen, and a quarter bathroom.

There is no 1st floor bedroom. Be sure to read all descriptions. You have everything you need to make you comfortable, but if you need anything, we are happy to provide it for you. Our rental is unique because it is a private home within a 5 minute walk to all of Camden.

You will find a Welcome bottle of wine on the kitchen island with all the instructions about the house, including WIFI.

Outside the kitchen door is a private patio with a charcoal barbecue and a table so that you can spend time relaxing in the fresh air while enjoying the sounds of birds and cool breezes that waft through the passageway. The two rockers on the porch allow for a tea time or a space for listening to music or reading a book. We apologize, we do not accept pets because there is no security fence. Kindly do not ask.

The village life of Camden is only moments from our side porch. The charm of the house is its proximity to everything, and yet, it has a peaceful ambiance and privacy that are not easy to find. (We would recommend Buttermilk or the Deli for breakfast, and the Waterfront, Natalie's, the rooftop bar at 16 Bay View, Mosaic, 40 Paper, Fresh, Franny's, Long Grain, Fig Barron's Distillery for dinner or in Rockport, Nina June's, and 18 Oyster and Primo's in Rockland. Make reservations beforehand.

Walk to Laite Beach, be a part of a friendly neighborhood, or walk to a great grocery store and live for days without getting in the car. PS. Don't miss the Stop and Go if you like beer. The owner is one of the most respected beer connoisseurs in the state of Maine!

Camden is a beautiful village. Kindly, remember that summer is a busy season and we are in the center of it. You may hear some cars, children laughing, and the general presence of life in a small town. Parking is available in front of the house.

Dave and I live in a small apartment on the property. Should you need anything, we are here to help you. Our goal is that you have a lovely holiday.

Every season is magical: the long evenings of summer are glorious, the incomparable autumn colors, snowfall for the holidays, and the flowers of spring. Our home in Camden has been a retreat for our family for many years, and we would love to share it with you.

Here are a few must-see spots: Aldemere Farm, Tenderwild Farm, Beauchamp Point for a long walk along Rockport Harbor, Blue Barron for a blueberry mojito and a view of Camden Harbor, Seafolk Coffee shop in Rockport, or Beech Hill for another lovely walk.

The house is professionally cleaned with eco-friendly products. Recycling containers are provided.

We ask that you honor check in and check out times so that we can do our best for you. You may check in at 3PM and check out is at 10AM.

as described by our guests...
My family and I stayed in this home for two weeks this past summer, and it is the most ideal house in the most perfect location. We adored it! We have traveled extensively in the US and throughout Europe, but this is at the top of the list of where we want to return. The house is utterly charming--so comfortable, fully renovated, completely equipped kitchen, the ideal place to come home to each and every day. It is perfectly situated at the edge of town--we started each morning with a stroll past the harbor to the local bakery, returning to the house to dine al fresco on the side terrace. Ah, I wish I were there now! Be sure to enjoy hot chocolate by the fire in the living room on a cold morning, a glass of wine in the rocking chairs on the porch, and interesting conversation around the table in the fascinating dining room. The town itself is a dream--gorgeous white wooden houses, a perfect Main Street stretched along a harbor filled with wooden schooners, fun shops, delicious dining, a terrific library, overflowing window boxes...just walking through town is a treat in itself, and this house is truly in the ideal spot. Everything is within walking distance! The locals are so friendly--the people at the corner grocery store knew us by the end of our stay, and when my daughter needed ginger for the cookies she was baking, she just traipsed down to her favorite bakery in town and they happily gave her some!! Camden truly is what you picture when you think idyllic New England town. And there's so much to do nearby--hiking, boating, swimming in the lake, eating lobsters at a lobster pound right on the water, canoeing and kayaking, beautiful gardens, interesting art galleries...I truly cannot say enough. Camden--and this house--have become our new favorites!!!! You can't go wrong, and will truly feel lucky to have stayed here.

...and,
Staying in Mary and Dave’s home was one of our absolute favorites. Their home is warm, artistic, and full of character, with meaningful pieces from their travels and lives woven into every corner. It’s not just a house, it’s a life. We felt incredibly lucky to be invited into it, even just for a few days. Mary and Dave themselves are absolute treasures. We had the chance to meet them in person during our stay, and it was an instant connection. They’re warm, curious, and thoughtful people with incredible stories and deep roots in the community. You can feel their love for Camden. Camden itself was a perfect home base for exploring the coast of Maine. From mountain-top views and cliffside walks to cozy coffee shops, farmers markets, and world-class food (at basically every restaurant), we truly loved every minute. We’ll always cherish this exchange and feel so grateful to have crossed paths with Mary and Dave.

Overall, the house was filled with clutter. The dishes in the cabinets had water on them and the silverware was not clean and all dishes and silverware had to be run thru the dishwasher prior to using. The steps into the home were dangerous as there was no railing to hold onto. Both owners were very helpful in seeing to our needs.Would not recommend this property at this price to friends or family.

The stay was great and the house was comfortable. It was decorated nice and had a lot of artwork that the owner painted. Loves looking at all pictures. They had a full kitchen and plenty of room for the 4 of us. It was very convenient to walk to Camden. The Miller's were very nice and helpful when we asked for restaurants . Their house was nice and warm feeling. Thank you.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The home owner is a talented artist and the home has a lot of his artwork and is appointed with an artists eye. Walking distance to town, markets, Mt Battie trailhead could not have been more convenient. We had a blast !

This is a charming and very comfortable home in a great location, just a few minutes walk to downtown Camden and everything the delightful town has to offer. The home is filled with books, art and antiques which our group of four 70-somethings greatly enjoyed. The owners are a thoughtful and charming couple and were highly responsive to our wishes. We felt like adopted Camdenites! Don't miss this one.

The property is exactly as described. We enjoyed the location of the house, both within the town and to visit nearby attractions. The hosts were very gracious. They were helpful when we had any questions, yet honored our privacy during our stay.

House very cluttered. Steps to 2nd and 3rd are not designed for older people. Very difficult to get a suitcase up steps. Third floor bathroom has no mirror and is an open space.
