Wonderful location to explore Carlton’a Tasting rooms
Lovely cottage, very relaxing. Clean and comfortable. We will be back!
The cottage is very cute, and perfect for two. There were a few things that could have been improved upon. I realized the day before our trip I had not received any information about check-in (ie; keys, etc...) I did receive a quick response from the owner after I emailed them to let them know. When we arrived at the cottage it was over 90 degrees outside and the ac was off. I realize this is in the check-out instructions, but since the dryer was still running (making the cottage even warmer), it would have been nice for the ac to be turned on to allow the cottage to start cooling down. My husband and I went to iron our clothes for our first day but quickly realized there was no iron. We called the owner to let them know and they were going to have the house manager call us back / look into it. They never got back to us. We wore wrinkly clothes our entire trip :( There is a small window in the stairs area that overlooks the bedroom, every morning the sun will wake you up by 5:15 am. Blinds would be a great addition to this window. Overall, our stay was great, the unit was clean, but just a few things could make future stays more enjoyable. Carlton is a cute small town, we enjoyed dinner, walks, and coffee during our stay. There are several wineries within about a 15-20 minute drive, Silver Falls SP is worth the 1.5 hour drive if you like to hike.
The cottage is lovely. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and nice decor. Everything was pretty easy and the area is quite walkable. The coffee kiosk 2 doors down opens early. The cottage is better suited to a shorter stay, as there is no place to hang clothes and it can be challenging sleeping with no blinds on some of the windows. That said, the place is very pleasant and beautiful.
Beautiful home in a beautiful area.
The cottage was so clean and cheerful. The walkability to tasting rooms and cafes made the trip so fun. We would love to come back with friends and try the big house. Thank you!
Great place! Seems brand new and perfect for two. Only two comments: please leave more than one roll of TP to avoid late night trips to distant grocery stores and your over stove light is without a bulb. Otherwise perfect! Would love to come back
This was the perfect family getaway for Thanksgiving. While our extended family stayed in the main house, the introverts were given the run of the cottage. It was a great space for our family. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well maintained; the smaller kitchen worked great for our family's contribution to Thanksgiving dinner. We loved the edible garden on the walk to the cottage from the main house; I might have enjoyed a blueberry or three. And you can't beat the location! Right in the heart of Carlton, we were a short 2 minute walk to restaurants, tasting rooms (both wine and whiskey) which was a great amenity for day after Thanksgiving activity. I also discovered a charming soap shop next door to the cottage after I got curious as to why it smelled like a spa every time I walked out the door. We will definitely return as we barely scratched the surface of tasting rooms to visit.
The cottage is decorated wonderfully and very comfortable with every thing you need for a relaxing stay! We enjoyed dinner at Barberry in McMinnville and enjoyed the lovely bakery next door before wine tasting in at the local wineries. Love the setting of the Carlton Cottage and the great fire pit and bocci ball! This was a fantastic visit!!!
We love wine country and have stayed in a variety of short term rentals in the Willamette Valley. Most of them require driving to dinner or to wine taste or get groceries, etc. This beautifully remodelled cottage is located literally next door to DePonte's tasting room and 100 yards from Cuvee. Everything you need is within walking distance. It's perfectly appointed, with great linens and all the equipment you need to make breakfast, lunch or dinner. We loved this place!
