Idlewild Pines Retreat

Excellent location in Rapid City where there is plenty of shopping and things to do. Rental was located within reasonable driving distance of many attractions including mount rushmore, the Badlands, Jewel cave, Custer State Park, and Crazy Horse. Also close to the excellent reptile gardens which we took advantage of on a rainy day. David was an excellent host who gave us many suggestions of things to do and strategies on how to do them best and most efficiently. We even got to do a little stargazing on a clear night less than 20 minutes from the rental. I would definitely recommend this rental to others.

Comfortable, roomy, had lots of extras in the kitchen area, beds were also comfortable, parking was easy, owner was awesome to work with before & during, would definitely stay there again if in the area.

This little 3 bedroom condo was perfect for our short trip to the Black Hills. It was close to everything we anted to see in South Dakota. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. If we ever came back, we would definitely say here again!

The owner reached out from the moment we booked the home, until we left, to be sure any questions were answered. The home was clean and in a very quiet part of town in an culd-de-sac. The neighborhood felt very safe to take morning or evening walks. The home is a four-plex but very sound, so don’t worry about hearing the neighbors. It was close to a gas station and not far from two grocery stores which is very convenient. Overall an amazing host and a great home! Will be back!

The property info visitors guide was very helpful. Would definitely stay again if we are back in South Dakota. Do many things to do around

Great place to stay a few days to see the sights in the area...Badlands, Custer Park and even has an opportunity to vidit Wall Drg.

Idlewild Pines was exactly as advertised. No surprises. David, the property owner was a dream to work with. Everything was clean and cozy. We were meeting up with family that we haven't seen in years, and we all had an amazing time ❤️. I highly recommend Idlewild Pines to anyone wanting a relaxing stay.

We enjoyed our stay here. The place was comfortable and great to come home to after a busy day. David had many recommendations for the must sees in the area. The neighbors were all very friendly, we felt safe and welcomed!

Host was awesome at reaching out and communicating. The online list does say there are three AC which is incorrect but other than that everyone had a good time.

We were hosting three of our grandchildren as a part of our practice to host our grandchildren as a part of thier high school graduation ... this site work well for our travels ....

Neighborhood was nice. Accommodations were very nice. Host was very Accommodating. It was a great place to unwind and relax. Would definitely book again.

We found the location of this property to be great for all the locations we wanted to visit—Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Custer, Devil’s Tower, Hill City. deadwood’s and more! Had we known how beautiful the local lake/park was we would have allowed time to enjoy it as well! The townhome had comfy beds, adequate space, local sites highlighted in the decor/art. The beds were comfy, nice to have a washer and dryer, and it was appreciated to have soaps, shampoo, etc provided.

This townhouse was perfect for us and we would definitely stay again. Everything was very clean and well equipped. We loved that two of the bedrooms have king size beds and the beds were very comfortable. There were lots of thoughtful touches throughout and the location was super quiet. The owners were very responsive and helpful when we had a question.

I think most importantly is Dave’s complete detail of places to see in and around Rapid City. The condo was comfortable, and clean. I brought my own grill and specialty food from home. The outdoor space was idea to setup, Dave mentioned he didn’t have a grill set up and I agree it’s not needed. Our daughter missed Dad’s Mexican food (pollo, carne, chorizo, beans etc. thanks Dave and VRBO

Last rental on a weeklong road trip. It was great! Comfortable and clean. Room for all 6 of us. The owners gave us a great list of places to check out. We didn’t have time for everything we wanted to do so and will definitely come back.
