Beautiful property. Tons of wildlife. This is not the place to host big parties and play music. This is better suited for wildlife watchers and quiet families. Owners are very particular about rules. Overall, a good place to stay though.

Sam's place was the perfect setting for our 3 families coming together for a reunion in Oscoda. Everyone had their own space but it was still very communal. The kitchen was well equipped, the rooms were cozy and everything had it's place. Plenty of room for our 1.5 year old to roam and for us to gather in the evenings in the largest unit. Sam greeted us upon arrival and gave us some great history of the property and the wildlife surrounding us. Everyone in our group was so pleased with Sanctuary Lodge.

Our vacation at the lodge was once again exceptional. The accommodations are clean and spacious, while the property is magical. We all had a great time exploring and seeing wildlife such as swans, red-winged black birds, robins, butterflies, deer, raccoons, turkeys, and so much more. We can't wait to return!

Perfect home for 3 families. Large rooms, I enjoyed the separate kitchens. Comfortable bedding. I appreciated the updated appliances. The younger ones enjoyed the wildlife. If I'm in need of a home in the area I would return .

This property is nice and secluded with lotsa wildlife. I can see why it is aptly named The Sanctuary. The owners couldn't have been any nicer and the property couldn't have been any cleaner.

Super Hosts! Clean, updated location. Beautiful, secluded property not far from Tawas. Loved seeing the swans and deer every morning while having coffee by the water. Will be back!

This place is absolutely stunning! We had some booking issues at first, but Samuel was quick to address them. The house was very clean, and newly renovated. We had some trouble getting to the private road. There is a wooden gate at the entrance that you have to hold open to have your car go through. As long as you have two people in the car, it wasn't a big deal. You definitely couldn't do it yourself. Also, when you talk about secluded, this is the place to go. There is no internet/service, and no TV. We very much enjoyed it, as those can be huge distractions in our life, and we needed a getaway. The wildlife is amazing, house is spectacular, and the owner is very accommodating. I would definitely recommend couples and families to stay a weekend here.
