Great location! The house is very spacious and well stocked. We really appreciated the extra things like toilet paper and paper towels - there were plenty. The beds were very comfortable. Having 3 bathrooms was a plus. We would stay here again. The house is definitely older and could use a little t&cs in some areas. Overall - great place in a great location.

Hill city haven seems to be an older home with lots of charm! Very well preserved, kept up, and clean - which is what we look for the most! The kitchen was very well equipped and there are 2 sets of washers and dryers which was perfect as we had 2 families staying! We loved being able to stroll downtown to all the shops and restaurants and the best part… the ice cream shop!! The game room and hot tub were a nice bonus and we would definitely recommend Hill City Haven to anyone we know traveling to the Black Hills!!

After being on the road and staying in remote areas and VRBOs, my family and I all agreed that, while the street view of the bungalow didn't quite compare to staying in Teton Valley or Jim Mountain, it was also REALLY nice to be able to open the front door and walk to dinner and shopping. Additionally, it was so nice to be within 20 minutes of Mt. Rushmore, Needles Highway, etc. Location is great for those reasons. The interior of the bungalow is super cute. And, it had everything we needed as far as sitting space and the ability to spread out. The basement accommodations, however, were a bit dank. And, there was nowhere to put our stuff without it being out in the open. Most VRBOs have drawers, dressers, a closet, etc. But, the basement area was VERY limited. Also, it was cold and we killed about five spiders. So, our reflexes are better. The kitchen is fabulous. The ice machine is AMAZING. But, as a baking family, we couldn't find a baking sheet or a cake pan. Outdoor space was GREAT. We used the hot tub and it's the perfect size for four-ish people. I am not a fan of hot tubs that have a zillion features that are difficult to figure out and are so big that we end up yelling over the jets in an attempt to hear each other. So, we were loving the size and ease. Normally, we don't look under the furniture, but we were trying to find game pieces. And, the cleaning crew is OBVIOUSLY not cleaning under the furniture. Surfaces are clean. Bathrooms are clean.

We were a group of 5 (two grandparents, two parents, and a teenage son) that stayed 4 nights in June and loved our stay! The home is clean, spacious and wonderful for entertaining - I think the hosting limitations are based on beds and bathrooms (12 total, IIRC), otherwise the home could probably accommodate 50 people between the indoor and outdoor spaces to entertain, although I think the hosts limit the count to 12 so plan, accordingly. The living areas are very open with plenty of furniture and great for relaxing, watching TV (big screen TV with all the streaming services available via Roku), etc. The kitchen is huge - easy for many people to co-occupy it and no shortage of seating. The beds are comfortable with plenty of pillows and linens. The bathrooms are nice with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, etc. The kitchen has all of the appliances and dishes you would hope for and most of the cooking essentials - sugar may have been the only thing we didn't see (they had Stevia, though). We didn't use the new game room, but it likewise is very spacious and looks great for entertaining. A/C works great throughout! In a great location within walking distance of nearly everything in downtown Hill City - grocery store may be worth driving to, but otherwise. Sarah was a great host - friendly and communicative throughout. Only considerations for whether it is for you... there is a room with a king bed and queen bed on the main floor... if you need more bedrooms/beds, those require stairs (up or down) - the basement ceiling height is only about 6 feet tall - not ideal for taller folks. The home is in very good condition but is a historical home - in many places it looks like it was more recently renovated, but some of the home shows its age - that was not at all a concern to us. 3 of the 5 of us didn't notice any issues with street noise, but 2 in the group said they could hear loud motorcycles driving down the street in the middle of the night - maybe bring earplugs if you are a VERY sensitive, light sleeper, but again 3 of us never noticed a sound outside. Highly recommended and we would definitely stay again if returning to Hill City.

We miss the house already. What a great place to decompress after our long road trip. The house is very spacious, charming, clean and well stocked. The location is great too with a short walk into town. The he backyard was so wonderful for the dogs and the hot tub was a real treat. Sarah was a great host. This rental is well worth your consideration, so book it and enjoy the area.

The house is a 1929 charmwr that has been well decorated. It has tons of space for large group, everything was well stocked, the back yard was wonderful for the dogs and the hot tub was a treat after long motorcycle rides. Very convenient location to shops and restaurants.

This is a unique property in the center of Hill City. It has lots of room, a well stocked kitchen, an attractive backyard complete with hammock and hot tub, and plenty of bedrooms for a larger group. There is also a new game room that we enjoyed. The check-in process was easy, and the host was responsive to our questions. We were able to walk to all attractions in Hill City, and the Mickelson Bike trail is only a block and a half away. There is sufficient parking for several cars and ample storage for bikes. We hope to be back for a future visit!

The house was perfect for our extended family trip. There was plenty of room for our 3 small families to have privacy, but a lot of common areas. We loved the walkability into town. There are many great restaurants, coffee shops, and breweries in town. The hot tub was fantastic at the end of the day after outings. Central location in the Hills was great. Most places we went were no longer than 30 minute drives.

The house has plenty of room for everyone. We were traveling with 3 teens and it worked great. Location allows for a quick walk to restaurants and shops. Elizabeth's has awesome coffee and Cream is some of the best ice cream I have ever had. All around a convenient base for checking out the area and host is very responsive.
