Stayed Jun 11, 2025Very clean. Ithad ecerything we needed. The property has a lot of character, in a cery old part of the city. Walk out the front door and you are looking at the castle.

Stayed Sep 17, 2024A charming medieval property over the bridge from the tourist traffic, but close enough to walk to restaurants. Our lovely host could not have been more helpful. Thank you Christele.

Stayed Jul 6, 2024Our 2 week stay in and around Amboise was thoroughly enjoyed. The gite was reasonably well appointed, albeit very small, but comfortable - and perfectly positioned near the centre of the town. The car parking as described in the VRBO literature suggested parking on site whereas, in fact, it was about hundred metres away in a public place not always available and under lime trees whose nectar created a “sticky mess” which had to be scrubbed off the car every morning. The gite outdoor space/garden was very disappointing (in fact disgraceful) being an overgrown unusable space when it could have been made into delightful courtyard garden. It was totally overgrown with weeds, bamboo and Russian Vine and a tumbledown gazebo with a dirty table and chairs. Certainly not a space which could be enjoyed. We did not use the barbecue as it had been left unclean. Gite7/10, outside area 1/10, parking 0/10

Stayed Jul 17, 2023We had a lovely ten days at this property, it was in a quiet neighbourhood on an island in the Loire and we just walked over the bridge to reach the town centre and all of its attractions. The property was perfect for two people and the outer courtyard and garden areas made it a great place to use the BBQ and unwind.

Stayed Oct 7, 2019Clean, convenient location and Fabien was really friendly. It's a bit dark inside, and the bedroom area is rather compact, but it felt safe and warm and Fabien was an accommodating host. Recommended.

Stayed Oct 1, 2018Property (which is 15th century) has been very well renovated with several hi tech features such as induction hob. It is small but cosy and I certainly don't think you could have more than 2 adults staying, not least because the bathroom is through the main bedroom.. You have to learn to duck to avoid the low beams! In summer it must be a lovely cool retreat but when we were there in October inside it was fairly dark as the windows do not face the sun.and we needed the lights on at all times. Fabien, the owner, was very helpful and charming with useful suggestions of where to go.. Amboise itself is full of life and an excellent centre to visit with lots of restaurants and cafes, as well as several chateaux including Clos Luce where Leonardo Da Vinci lived. We would also recommend visiting Chateau Gaillard which has an amazing rediscovered and restored garden. Amboise is also well situated to visit many of the grand chateaux of the Loire. We visited Chambord, Chaumont & Chenonceaux and also made a longer trip to Chinon. The road system enables you to travel quickly along beautiful riverside or countryside roads. I would certainly recommend this property particularly for younger, agile people.
