House on Douro, Mudgee

The house was a bit disappointing. The bedroom and living rooms are furnished in such a spartan way it brings student dorms to mind. It impacts your initial impression and does not say welcome. The kitchen is well equipped but based on the former comment I wouldn’t choose to stay for length of time. There was a musty smell on opening and the toilet didn’t smell good either.It is well located being an easy 10 minute walk to main shops and cafes.

Simple, sparse, clean home.

Overall very happy but it was the main road so a lot of noise at all hours. Also a very bad smell which we think was left over perhaps from painting and the place being closed up. However very nice accommodation otherwise.

The house was basic and clean. Being on Douro Street it was a bit noisy from trucks early in the morning.Parking was good and closeness to the town excellent.

The house was clean and tidy. Everything you needed was there. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking, and the bathroom was updated. There was only one mirror in the bathroom. We would have liked a mirror in the bedrooms. The towels were like sandpaper. However, the condition improved after a shower and putting them in the dryer. The house is close to the road, with constant heavy vehicle traffic at night. Overall, being close to town was a benefit.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is old but was clean and comfortable with enough spaceTV is pretty small but not a real issue unless you’re watching it a lot. Off road parking available. Well equiped kitchen for cooking basic meals. Walking distance to town. Road out front could get a bit noisy at peak times

Very cute house, location was good. Bed was comfortable. Kitchen had what was needed. As others mention the traffic can be loud especially early morning 5am onwards but that's to be expected on that road. I ended up staying an extra night and host was very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous little cottage, perfect base for a weekend away. Easy walking distance to the main strip with all the cute cafes and boutiques.

Clean, all the supplies you need, easy and quick access to town. Your own great space. Nicely heated in winter! Flat access throughout, great for older visitors.

Generous heating throughout welcome in July.

Stayed for Mudgee Classic - perfect cycling distance to start & finish. Simple house, good beds, good hot water, responsive owners. Off street parking. Plus great access to eateries and wineries.

Lovely cottage with space to even throw the ball around out the back. Great facilities, kitchen and even a bath! TV was a little small for my 12-year old's liking though :-)

Had a lovely week with family. The house was very well equiped with everything we needed and in a good spot. We will be happy to stay again.

We stayed here over Easter and for a really good price for a last-minute booking. Accommodation is situated on a main, but relatively quiet, road just on the outskirts of Mudgee town centre and is perfect for the pubs, cafes and restaurants around a 10-15 minute walk away. It's well kitted out with what you will need for a weekend or a few days away, and decent sized rooms with high ceilings, a really powerful and warm shower and heated lamp in the bathroom, good kitchen with all the appliances you need and reverse-cycle air conditioning and fan heaters. It is an older property which has been renovated in the last few years, although it looks as though it could do with another lick of paint in a few areas and a couple of minor DIY repairs needed but nothing major to worry about. It would be nice to see a few pictures on the walls too, as it looks a little bit bare, the Wifi internet connection was very slow and the TV has all the streaming apps but is tiny given the size of the room. Would definitely stay again though, as the location is so good and it ticks all the main boxes!

The property had everything that you needed. It is a very old house but we knew that and it had charm. Everything was clean. The front door lock was a bit tricky to get into, might need a new lock. Definitely need new towels and lounge pillows. Bed was comfortable. There was even little bits of shampoo, conditioner, etc in bathroom cupboard, which was a nice touch in case you run out.Overall we had a great stay.

A well-positioned house within walking distance of most places in central Mudgee. Great value for money!

Value for money. Basic accommodation. Location good for access to Mudgee town centre however busy/noisy due to trucks and traffic passing by as part of town centre bypass. Takes about 1 night to get used to it.

Great spot for discovering beautiful Mudgee and it’s gorgeous surrounds. Easy walk into town. Grocery stores close by if you want to cook in the cottage but lots of great eating places also nearby. Traffic was loud which is to be expected as it is on the highway into town (we hadn’t realised). Would still recommend.

It was close to town and the sculpture walk along the river was great. The house was clean and cosy. The beds were comfortable and had all necessary appliances. The shower head needs fixing as it sprayed everywhere. Had a great stay at this property.
