All seasons retreat:

SPRING on the Leelanau Peninsula is a gorgeous time of year, where the landscapes come alive with vibrant colors and fresh energy. As the snow melts away, rolling vineyards and cherry orchards burst into bloom, creating breathtaking scenes of white and pink blossoms. Have a bonfire in the backyard and enjoy a soak in the new hot tub. Spring is also a perfect time to tour local wineries before the summer crowds arrive! The milder temperatures make it an ideal season for hiking, biking, and kayaking—whether you’re exploring the scenic trails of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, taking a leisurely bike ride along the Leelanau Trail, or paddling through the crystal-clear waters of Grand Traverse Bay.

SUMMERS on the peninsula are simply magical! The world-famous Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore becomes a playground for hiking, dune climbing, and scenic drives along Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive, while miles of sandy beaches invite visitors to swim, kayak, or paddleboard. The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail comes alive in summer, with rolling vineyards, wine tastings, and farm-to-table dining experiences featuring fresh local produce. Visit the historic “Fishtown” in Leland, Good Harbor Beach or Glen Arbor, all just minutes away from the home!

In nearby Traverse City, the National Cherry Festival (late June/early July) celebrates the area’s cherry harvest with parades, air shows, live music, and delicious cherry-inspired treats. Downtown Traverse City is vibrant with bustling shops, waterfront dining, and a thriving craft beer scene, making it the perfect spot for a summer evening stroll.

Whether you're boating on Lake Leelanau, cycling the scenic Leelanau Trail, having a bonfire on Good Harbor Beach while taking in the sunset or discovering charming villages like Leland’s Fishtown, summer in this region is all about long, adventure-filled days and memorable nights!

FALL on the Leelanau Peninsula and in Traverse City is a breathtaking blend of vibrant colors, crisp air, and cozy small-town charm. As the leaves turn shades of red, orange, and gold, the region transforms into one of the best fall destinations in the Midwest! Scenic drives along M-22 and through Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore offer stunning views of rolling vineyards, winding roads lined with autumn foliage, and the deep blue waters of Lake Michigan.

This is prime time for wine tasting on the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail, as harvest season brings fresh new vintages and lively vineyard events. Apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and cider mills invite visitors to experience the flavors of fall with warm cider, fresh donuts, and crisp local apples. Fall in northern Michigan is incredible and not to be missed!

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of WINTERS on the Leelanau peninsula! Cozy up next to the wood burning fireplace with a cup of coffee or a cocktail and enjoy a movie on the smart TV. Venture out to one of the numerous wineries in the area and watch the snow fall outside while sipping on a glass of wine or cider. Snowshoe or cross-country ski on one of the many hiking trails nearby. Visit the quaint town of Glen Arbor, Leland, Suttons Bay or Traverse City and enjoy fine dining at award winning restaurants or stay in and make a delicious meal in the large open concept kitchen. The best part of winter is that you’ll feel like you have the entire towns to yourself!

Cherry Top Retreat was designed with the guest experience at the forefront. Each thoughtful detail culminates into an idyllic “up north” getaway, a mix of rustic-modern luxury. We hope you enjoy your time at this special place!

We loved everything about the property. The place was beautifully decorated. Nice bedding and towels. The kitchen had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation rental.

Ideal location for exploring the Leelanau Peninsula! Five minutes from the gorgeous Good Harbor Bay Beach, we were so comfortable in this cozy cabin. Though we were close to a lot of amazing food, the kitchen was well-equipped for eating in. Hot tub under the lights was an added perk.
