Nearby Adventures

One of my favorite local spots is 11 Mile Canyon, just a short drive from the property. I visit almost daily with my dog, Rio — it’s perfect for hiking, fishing, and exploring with dogs. The views over the river valley and canyon are breathtaking and showcase the region’s natural beauty.

Important Notes About the Property

This is an active, working property where I — along with my dog, Rio — am often onsite tending the land and pursuing our vision of a sustainable and regenerative farm. Our work focuses on native plant species, native grass restoration, and supporting pollinators, especially birds.

During the high season (May–September), we may also host a small number of glampers or RV guests elsewhere on the acreage. While the house itself always remains fully private for your stay, you may notice some activity on other parts of the property. Many guests find that this adds to the character of the experience and offers a unique connection to the land.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It is really easy to find. The host gave us great directions and was friendly and easy to communicate with. The house is situated right in the town of Florissant, it is an easy drive over to Woodland Park (or even Manitou Springs) for shopping and other things to do. The house is really close by a local park and library. The home was cozy and comfortable and had all of the things we needed for our stay. We found the couch and beds to be comfortable. The TV is huge. The kitchen well-stocked. The hot tub relaxing (with plenty of large towels available). The property has lots of outdoor things to do but it was kinda chilly and we mostly stayed indoors. We decided we definitely need to come back in the warmer months! We would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Grayson’s place. We were in the area for a long weekend of hiking with my 8 & 11 year old grandsons. They loved the board games, hot tub, large screen tv and bunk beds. I loved the many amenities that allowed us to settle in and feel at home. Everything is as pictured. Grayson is a superior host. The location feels remote (star gazing from the hot tub was great) yet it’s conveniently near to hiking. We enjoyed exploring Eleven Mile Canyon, Pikes Peak and hiking at Rampart Reservoir.

Great getaway in the mountains! The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. The hot tub was awesome at the end of the day. The WiFi was fast enough for everything we needed and to stream on the tv. The only thing to note that I did not recall seeing in the listing is that the last stretch is on a dirt road and the driveway is a hill. This wasn’t a problem for this time of year, but could be a challenge without AWD in the winter.

This house was a great space for our family of 6 plus 2 friends. We were visiting to enjoy the trails for hiking, dirt bike riding and jeeping. There was plenty of space to park our vehicles plus our bikes. We loved the outdoor spaces, especially the hot tub. The kitchen had everything we needed. With 8 of us staying we did have to time our showers so that we had enough hot water but we worked it out. Great place to stay and a great host! We did some hiking on the property and it was beautiful .

This property was absolutely perfect for a secluded weekend getaway in the mountains. Grayson had absolutely anything you could think of available for his guests. There was an abundance of towels for the bathrooms and hot tub as well as all the kitchen supplies you would possibly need. Everything was labeled and easily accessible. The beds, pillows and couch were extremely comfortable. The TV was wonderful, the soundbar was a nice touch and we really enjoyed the heated floors. The house felt very homey and cozy—we didn’t want to leave. There was also a beautiful park next door that our 2 year old absolutely loved. The hot tub was toasty and very enjoyable. We had a blast and would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing home in the mountains. Woodland park was only about 20 mins away which has a Safeway and a Walmart. Manitou Springs was only about a 35 min drive too! The location was perfect and we really hope to visit again soon. Thank you Grayson (& Rio (the sweetest pupper))!!

We were fortunate during our stay that no one, aside from the property owner for a very short period, were on the property. Loved the sprawling property. Lovely to walk around the property and play the yard games. Nice and calming, would recommend. GREAT communication with property owner. LOVE that the property uses essential oil diffusers. This didn't make or break our trip, but meant as feedback for owner & future guests:-While we do understand that we are staying in someone's home, we are paying money to stay there...it's a little off-putting with personal photos on the fridge & personal identifying items in the office area.-Teal hot mitts 100% need replacing, they DO NOT work...caution, you WILL burn your hands-Would like better amenities (coffee, tea, zippie bags, storage containers)-Teapot needs either a very good deep clean or replacing-Would be nice for sliding back door and laundry room door to have some type of covering-Beach towels need replacing/updating some of them are VERY scratchy.-Master bed needs to be rotated, but the bed, bedding and pillows were very comfy.-Fridge water filter needs to be replaced. -You cannot have more than one thing going that needs hot water. If you use the rain/big shower head then your hot water will run out fast, use the smaller shower head attachment to make hot water shower last longer. -Hot tub is great! Can't adjust temp higher and lights don't operate, but the jets do. This is posted on the sign by the hot tub.

Cannot express how wonderful our stay was. The home is beautiful, comfortable and organized. Beds are cozy, water was able to heat up quickly , house stayed warm and everything was clean. We visited in mid Nov, snow covered the front lawn and most the hill behind us, but roads were clear and easy to navigate, very important for us Dallas ladies not knowing how to navigate icy roads. The days were warm enough and snow compacted enough to go for hikes and enjoy the beauty of nature. Our host was quick to respond when we needed anything and did not intrude on our privacy. We 100% recommend this rental and hope to visit again, ourselves. . The area is beautiful and peaceful.
