There is plenty of car parking, or bring the boat. However, as there is no boat ramp in Hahei, you will need to launch at Cooks Beach to make the most of what Mercury Bay has to offer.

Hahei is a popular village on the Coromandel with an amazing beach and wonderful eateries. Access to world-renowned Cathedral Cove is from the village; it is around a 40-minute walk to the Cove if conditions allow. You can kayak or hop on the water taxi to take you around from Hahei beach. You are also a stone’s throw away from Hot Water Beach. This is a beautiful beach where, at low tide, you can dig a hole and find the HOT water; spades can be hired from the local store.
