Summary:

Nestled in the coastal town of Scarborough, 1 Coastguard Cottages is a cosy holiday home with plenty of charm and style. Located in a hilltop position, you’ll have the best of both worlds as you can enjoy peaceful walks in the grounds of Scarborough Castle or the bustling sea front area in this popular resort. Sleeping up to four guests, 1 Coastguard Cottages is perfect for family holidays, couples escapes and getaways with friends.

The Space:

1 Coastguard Cottages has been recently refurbished and features homely interiors throughout.

LIVING ROOM AND DINING AREA

The property boasts a cosy and welcoming living room with two comfy sofas, an armchair and a flat screen TV, an ideal space to unwind after a busy day of exploring. Sharing the space is a dining area consisting of a wooden table with four comfortable dining chairs.

KITCHEN

Ultra modern and sophisticated, the kitchen features light wooden cabinets. Perfect for preparing meals for you and your loved ones, the kitchen has everything you could need to make the most of your self-catering stay.

BEDROOM

Take the stairs up to the first floor and you’ll find the master bedroom and the family bathroom. The bedroom benefits from a king size bed, along with a sea view. The bathroom is home to a bathtub with handheld shower, separate walk in shower, WC and wash basin.

The second bedroom, located on the second floor, is a twin room featuring two single beds. Both rooms at 1 Coastguard Cottages boast premium bed linens and plush bedding, the perfect combination for a great night’s sleep.

BACKYARD

The outside space at 1 Coastguard Cottages is a small patio area which is a real sun trap in the Summer afternoons.

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to 1 Coastguard Cottages are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

A parking scratch card is provided, allowing for free on-street parking nearby on a first come, first served basis. An on-site parking bay is available for the purposes of loading and unloading.

A starter pack of logs will be provided, however any additional logs for the fireplace will need to be purchased by guests. We strongly advise children are supervised at all times when the log burner is in use.

The Neighborhood:

Packed with seaside charm, you’ll find plenty of pubs, restaurants and cafes to discover as well as arcades and ice cream parlours in Scarborough.

There are a number of beaches for you to choose from. The popular South Bay is a sun trap and close to the hustle and bustle of the town centre. North Bay has been accredited with Blue Flag status meaning it’s one of the best beaches in Europe! Cayton Bay is the quietest of the three and boasts a sweeping bay with a rural feel. Lastly Cornelian Bay is the remotest and hardest to get to but it’s a hidden gem and often empty.

Ideal for all weathers, there are lots of indoor attractions in Scarborough for the whole family. Head to Sea Life Sanctuary to see seals, penguins, sharks, turtles and more or Scarborough Castle to explore its 3000 year history. If it’s outdoor fun you’re looking for, The Open Air Theatre is a gentle 20 minute walk from the apartment where you can see amazing bands, singers and comedians. There is also the Sky Trail Adventure and Peasholm Park nearby.

Getting Around:

1 Coastguard Cottages is within walking distance of all that Scarborough has to offer and within 45 minutes’ drive time of Whitby and Bridlington.

Scarborough Train Station is a short 20 minute walk away and has routes to Bridlington, York, Hull and Sheffield.

There are plenty of bus routes throughout Scarborough. Hop on the 12 route and you can visit neighbouring seaside spots of Filey and Bridlington. The X93 travels through to Middlesbrough with drop offs in Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby.

Interaction with Guests:

We’re always available for our guests so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The property was quaint, but hard to find. It has a lot of stairs to the bedrooms which can be hard for some that I didn't notice in the review.

The property was very nice, but the downstairs areas smelt quite musty / greasy cooking smells. The property was clean. It was a bit of a nightmare checking in, with a lady on the phone assuring me that details would be provided, but they were not. I had to make a further call to obtain the details. The front entrance to the property was a little difficult to find. The rear door (through which entry could not be gained) would benefit from a sign pointing guests round the row of terraces to the front door.

Such a pretty and relaxing property. A great location for exploring Scarborough and the surrounding area. House was very well equipped and spotless. We were sad to leave 1 Coastguard Cottage.

Lovely property, very clean and newly decorated, perfect for a family of 4, lovely large bathroom. Excellent location and views of Scarborough. Everything you could every need was provided, although would of liked full length mirrors in bedrooms, oh and a washing up bowl, so not end of the world! Parking was good for location, however I definitely wouldn't recommend this property for anyone with mobility issues, steep garden entrance to front of property, and steep stairs inside. I would definitely come back again, it was very nice
