Homosassa Riverfront Retreat - Deep Dock - Family Friendly! - Relax & Enjoy!

We booked for 3 days; left 16 hours laterThe good: Location, back yard, porches, docks. This is the 2 star rating.The bad: We arrived at 1:30a.m and place was freezing. Thermostat set to 58 degrees. An hour and a half later it was still at 60 degrees. My wife slept in her jacket and gloves all night. Showers and tub were gross. Master tub should be cut out and thrown away - miscolored, dirty, soap scum, hairs (small and large), shower had a plastic no slip pad that was gross. Underneath it was dirt, hair, soap scum, mold. Spent fist 45 minutes cleaning the bathrooms - at which time the hot water ran out and couldn't take a shower. Bedding was sub standard, mismatched, pillows were flat, etc. Pulled in 2 space heaters (provided) but those blew the fuse - found fuse box but couldn't fix it. I sleep with a CPAP so i had to jerry rig some extension cords to make that all work. Terrible night. Chairs are cut up, parts of wall separated from ceiling, skylight looked like it was fixed (not well) with tar smeared across glass.We were in communications with owner. He was not happy we didn't give him the chance to fix before we left. My expectation is a place is ready when i arrive, not fixed after the fact. After that night, i had zero confidence in any future fixes. He provided me with his resume and explanation of how everyone else who stayed there loved it. We did not. Never offered any refund so we ate the cost and stayed in Orlando the next 2 nights.

The location of this house could not have been better. It was a joy to wake up each morning and look out over the river. The weather was cold so we didn’t enjoy the kayaks. The house was well equipped and check in was very easy

This is just the BEST place! Communication with the host is excellent. The house is equipped with everything you could need. The location is perfect. We had to leave a day early because of the winter storm coming and not one of us was happy to have to go. We could have stayed a week. Thank you for a wonderful, peaceful place to stay.

Great place the birds where awesome they came everyday for there mullet. It was pretty cool great fishing close by to everything we needed.

We had an excellent trip at Ray and Barb's riverfront home. From the amazing river views where we saw manatee, turtles, fish, and dolphins, plus the numerous birds who visit frequently, to the fantastic location near several restaurants (a few within walking distance), quick drive to Crystal River to swim with the manatees, and short drive to the Wildlife Park, this property was exactly what we were looking for. The river was a bit too chilly for swimming in December but we still enjoyed sitting on the dock just watching the boats go by and sitting in the lanai playing card games. Clean accomodations for our group of 4. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. We didn't cook with the exception of some quick and easy breakfast foods like bagels and toast, but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked. They have kayaks and what looked like some water toys and safety equipment as well. We would love to come again for scallop season and maybe can enjoy the river a bit more. Thank you!!

The view, porch & space are great! The birds were fun and we did see a dolphin at the deck.The sunrises were were gorgeous! The negatives were that the place needs a spring cleaning as there was lots of dust, especially on the curtains and window sills. The sofas are shorter than normal and the window chairs have seen better days. We enjoyed the stay in spite of the those things. Swinging on the porch, watching the river was very peaceful.

Beautiful view, we loved the screened porch, fished everyday, caught some kind of snapper, catfish, Jack Crevalle, even caught a small stingray. Saw Dolphin twice. Only negative I would say is the couches were very short, and the queen mattress in the guest room not very comfortble. Overall great stay and would definitely go back. I asked a lot of questions to the owners, and they always gave a prompt reply.

The home and furniture was very dated. The bathroom sink was very slow to drain. View was very nice. Very close neighbors

First of all, I want to say we were so impressed with this home. It was furnished great.You couldn't ask for anything because everything you needed was already there. We only spent a couple days for my birthday. Which we so enjoyed. We fished from the dock every day. Even though we only caught catfish, it was so much fun just to catch a fish. We also caught some crabs. We didn't keep them. We let them go the only mishap. We had was, I was so excited to show off my crabs, then I dropped my phone in the river haha, hoping the fish are taking some awesome pictures. Thank you so much again for allowing us to have an awesome weekend.

We truly need enjoyed our week at this home. The view is beautiful and most of the week it was quiet and peaceful. During the weekend there was a lot of boat traffic but we enjoyed watching that too! We saw manatees almost daily swim by the house and the last 2 days dolphins swam right up along the wall of the property. We had a blue heron that visited us daily whom we named Ricky. He did receive a few snacks from us when he visited. From the deck we caught catfish, a sting ray, gar, a large mouth bass, and 2 sharks! The area has several great restaurants and we enjoyed many of them. It is wonderful that the house comes with kayaks and we did take them out. My only suggestion for those is perhaps some upgraded seating pads to place in them or maybe it is the way those particular tandem kayaks were designed but they are very uncomfortable. The single kayak was great. The house had everything we needed and is spacious. It could use some updating, but it did not effect our comfort or stay. Check out instructions are a little more than typical for cleaning, no cleaning fee. However, if you’re trying to cut out early in morning in front of a very long drive this could delay you. Larger washer is needed to fit all the towels and sheets before departure. Overall, we are glad we selected this home and location. We had a wonderful time. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

The stay was great. Two grands ages 10 and 12 crabbed, fished, scalloped and kayaked. Rained every day but sitting on lanai was peaceful. Kitchen was more than adequate. Forget watching weeknight tv…never got networks. Restaurants in area were outstanding. Will return in future years.

This is our 2nd time staying here. It is very convenient to the springsand restaurants.

We really enjoyed sitting on the screened in back porch. We were just feet away from the water so getting to see all the different animals in their natural habitat was really nice! Baby ducks, manatee, cranes, fish… The design of the home is very spacious so no one felt like we were on top of each other. There is an abundance of dishes if you need it, they have it. Having two refrigerators was very nice! The neighborhood is very nice. The road is one way. The private boat ramp is very convenient from the house. We have a 20 foot Coastal deck boat so the boat trailer was a little tricky to get into the yard. Overall, our experience was very pleasurable! We would stay here again. This was our third trip to this property in Homosassa Fl. We love it there on the river. Great fishing off the dock, 16 manatees paid us a visit. So much to do nearby and the house is perfect.

Four of us stayed for a weekend getaway to experience Florida’s natural beauty. We enjoyed views from the house and dock and even watched a summer storm roll in from the safety of the covered porch. We spotted all kinds of visitors in the river, including manatees!Access to kayaks and fishing gear made the stay even more exciting.

Great river views with dozens of ducks of all sizes and a heron you can almost feed by hand. House is in a nice location and comfortable.

My family and I met there for Thanksgiving, as it is halfway between Naples and Tallahassee, where I have one son in school. We had a great time kayaking on the river and watching all the wildlife from the dock. A baby manatee swim right under the dock! The house was well stocked, and the owners were super accommodating.

We loved this house! It’s right on the water and provides kayaks, life jackets and much more! We spent a lot of time on the water and on the dock fishing. The house is clean and comfortable. We will be back for sure!

First off, the hosts were very pleasant very responsive and easy to work with. I would book with them again. The property was larger than expected for the area. I was able to park my 4Runner and trailer there with ease and options. The boat dock was well placed and well maintained. The house had several coffee pots which was great because I am a drip coffee guy. There were 2 refrigerators and an ice machine across the main street. Restaurants upon restaurants that you can take the boat to or drive. The kitchen was full and clean. The seawall was lengthy and we saw a few manatees and lots of dolphins. The property is situated right across from the spring which was just a short boat ride. This place is awesome.

This house is a great location for spending time on the river. House is very well supplied with everything for a great stay. The dock was great for those bringing a boat. Home was very clean and owner was very responsive. Would absolutely stay here again.
