Just a short stroll from the beach and the scenic downtown area, this two-story home provides the perfect coastal escape. After an afternoon spent stretched out in the sand, walk to one of many restaurants for a bite to eat or stop inside local shops for a vacation souvenir. Located right across the street from the train station, you'll also have convenient access to making a day trip to Boston.

Spend time outdoors at home in the spacious backyard. Sizzle favorite barbecue recipes on the gas grill, then dine alfresco at the six-person dining table that sits beneath a solar-lit pergola. The grassy area provides ample space to play lawn games in the sun. Inside the home, a cozy living area invites you to unwind with a good book or movie on the smart TV. The chef in your group can prepare home-cooked meals in the kitchen. A table for five offers the ideal perch for family dinners followed by board game nights.

The biggest issue was the 1 bathroom. However, we lived the stay. The area is clean and the people are friendly.

The house was cute, vintage charm. Beds were also vintage/antique. Most of us left with a sore neck and back. T- is directly across the street, so it was super loud all night. (We are from the middle of nowhere though so it’s always quiet)This is a house through Vacasa they really need to speak to their cleaning staff. It was moderately clean there were still crumbs on the counters and table and floor when we got there from the previous guests. And a moldy shower curtain. But the shower it self is an old claw foot tub.The house has so much potential and with a little love could be a fantastic stay.A couple of beaches within walking distance. Made for a nice morning walk!

It was fine. Some weird quirks and dirty sheets- probably bring your own bedding. But it was an awesome location and we had a fun weekend!

Nice location and generally nice place. However we reported after leaving a couple hours in the morning during stay that upon returning noticed a previously closed window was open. I noticed the outside trash had been removed also so asked service number if anyone entered while we were away. Service is not local so said they'd contact local mgt and confirm back but never did. I had local police do full sweep before we re-entered to ensure safety. Otherwise place itself is nice besides moldy shower curtain but I do not trust Vicasa service.

House located across from train station. Trains idling every hour of the day. Couch completely warm out. Twin bed mattresses are awful. Won’t be staying here next year

Although this house might not appeal to everyone, we really liked it and enjoyed our stay there, and would rent it again. It's kind of a cross between Grandma's Victorian and a kitschy funky beach house, but if you are looking for a nostalgic beachy vibe that's a short walk to the beach (5-10 minutes), that can accommodate a good sized family at a good price, this could work for you. It is also a couple of minutes walk to a market, a Walgreens, an ice cream shop, and the Rockport commuter rail station - so the family can easily take the train to Salem and Boston for sightseeing. It's also a 10 minute drive to the whale watches in Gloucester. When my kids were young I rented houses on Cape Cod a couple of times for a vacation with extended family (total of 8 people), and both were probably similar price range (adjusted for inflation). This would have been far preferable to either of them, and would actually accommodate 8 people.

Overall a good place at a very good value. Very convenient to Front Beach and Bearskin neck eliminating the need to hunt for scarce parking. Although OK, cleanliness of surfaces could have been better. Sleep sofa in the living room unusable reducing the number of sleeping places by 2 compared to the posting. Some noise from the railroad station across the street but not bad. The railroad station has legal free day parking if more needed, a rarity in a town that is a police state when it comes to ticketing cars in the wrong place.

Cozy, clean and private, what you see in the photos is what you get. Very convenient location to Bear Skin Neck and beaches. Friendly shop owners across the street. Some train noise at night, but it didn't really bother us... super convenient way to get to Boston. Kitchen is well equipped with appliances and spices. Strong wifi for streaming or work, except in backyard.

The house was clean and communication was great. But….. there is just to many things in the house. Barely any room in the kitchen to prep meals. Decor was old and out dated. Furniture not super comfortable. Beds were comfy. I know others comment on the amount of stuff and it is worse than you can see from pictures. I have mixed feelings about this stay. My two boys loved the toys and the tree house but My wife and I struggled to relax just due to the amount of cluttered. Mixed review
