HOLY COW! Guest Haus in The Heart of New Glarus

We spent three days at this cozy home for a girls trip. It was a perfect place to relax and enjoy ourselves. Plenty of space and all of the bedrooms were very cute with the most comfortable beds and bedding. It is located right downtown so, even in winter, we could walk to shops, coffee and dinner. Highly recommend!

We love New Glarus and especially enjoyed staying at the Holy Cow Guest Haus! The house is arranged well, is very tidy and has several amenities are just what we needed for our stay. The host is delightful and responsive. Don't miss this gem!

Love this location and house

When we first walked in it was musty smelling, could use a dehumidifier. Other than that it was great very comphy bed and plenty of space for us 3 ladies. Thank you very much, would recommend and would stay again

House was VERY clean and comfortable. Kitchen and baths were well stocked. Location was within easy walk iof everything in New Glarus. So we parked in the driveway and walked everywhere. Great place to stay and enjoy town festivals.

The Holy Cow! Guest Haus in New Glarus was wonderful. Teri is a great host. It was very clean and comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms were a little warm, but it was also in the upper 80s/lower 90s so it was expected. The central air kept the house very comfortable overall. There were plenty of dishes, glasses and silverware and the pots and pans were in good condition. Enjoyed grilling steaks on the propane grill.The house is located about 0.2 miles from the northern trailhead of the Sugar River state trail and is close to the Badger state trail and a reasonable drive to the Military Ridge state trail. The ice cream store next to the parking lot for the Sugar River trailhead was a pleasant surprise.The kitchen/dining room side of the house faces a state road that has a 5-7% incline so there is a little bit of noise from large/heavy vehicles coming up the hill but after a couple of days didn't really notice it.The driveway is on the back side of the house off of 6th Avenue between the house and church that faces 6th Avenue so you'll need to ignore gps/map app directions which will tell you to turn onto 2nd Street..Some of the outlets lack a grounding hole so if you want to plug in anything with a grounded plug, you'll need an adapter.Will definitely stay at the Holy Cow! Guest Haus again if it's available when I'm in the area.

We enjoyed our stay here. Most of the rentals we have stayed in were more rural, and I was a little afraid it would be too noisy, but that wasn't the situation.

Well equipped home and great location.Teri was wonderful to work with. 2nd time staying and looking forward to the next visit here.

This was a lovely place to stay for the two nights we were there. Adequate space for the 5 of us to sit around the table to eat and to play games. Well-equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Comfortable living room. Good location near to shops and eating places.

My mom and my sisters and I stayed here for a girls weekend. We had a wonderful stay. We did some day trips into Madison, but New Glarus has some cute shops, great places to eat, interesting scenery, etc. The beds were very comfortable, the water pressure was good. Plenty of dishes for 6 people. Nice seating area to eat, play games, put puzzles together. Felt very safe walking around. It is near the Sugar River Bike Trail. I would definitely come back and bring bikes. There is a wonderful winery with great views and good food. There are a couple of playgrounds and a pool in town for young kids. Teri was easy to work with. Very positive experience. Would definitely come back.

Our family had a nice weekend in New Glarus. The home met our needs and was perfectly located to be within walking distance of the shops / restaurants in town.

We wouldn't hesitate to book this location again. The location was perfect to enjoy all New Glarus has to offer. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. The owner was responsive and accommodating. The only TINY negative feedback is that the TVs in the common areas are way too small for the space. We planned on a lazy Sunday watching the game, which we still were able to do, but would have preferred a larger screen.

Lovely & clean home. Great communication from the owner, Teri. Easiest access we’ve ever had. Great beds, linens, towels. Comfortable living room furniture to hang out together. Stairs are steep for us of a certain age, but doable. Walkable to the village of New Glarus. Teri even left us a welcoming gift in the fridge that was much appreciated after our 11 hour drive.

This house lived up to the billing and is walking distance to the many shops and attractions of New Glarus. The house is in great shape and the cow theme is quite cute.

The “Holy Cow” house is a charming home and very comfortable. Very easy to walk downtown for shopping and food. Terry was a wonderful host, and even had some cookies waiting for us from the local bakery. We would definitely recommend staying here when visiting New Glarus.

Great host, perfect location, charming home, and well appointed. New Glarus is incredibly hospitable, variety of shops, great dining options and recreation opportunities.

It was so nice to spend a weekend with my adult children. No spouses, no grandkids. We don’t get the opportunity to get together because of distance but our stay gave us time to reconnect. We had a cute house that was very clean and tidy. Also one block away from downtown and close to everything. It was so easy to book and communicate with Teri. We had everything we needed to “cook in” a few meals. Thank you Teri!

Great house that met all our needs! Bonus: Spotted Cow in the fridge ???. Clean and comfortable, beds are fantastic!!??. Morning walks in a quiet neighborhood were wonderful! Thank you!
