On a plot of 10ha in a unique location, surrounded by the sea and pine forests and completely quiet, there are two holiday homes, Pelagos House and Bougainvillea House.
The house Bougainvillea has 40m2 and is a large room with sleeping accommodation, bathroom with toilet and an open kitchen (fridge and cooking facilities).
The surrounding area is planted with fruit trees and lawns and the central point is a salt water swimming pool and a barbecue for shared use with Pelagos House.
The distance to your own beach is 150m and the difference in height of 75m makes it easier to go down steps. It is a small private beach that belongs to the property and is not accessible from the outside (only accessible by boat). Since our property is at the end of an unpaved road (1600m from the asphalt road), a 4x4 drive car is essential to have. The next shopping possibility is around 15min. away and Skyros town in about 25min. ereichbar. Down in the bay of Pefkos (7min) is by far the best tavern of Skyros, because here you can still look into the pots and choose the fish that is delivered freshly by local fishermen in the morning.

Skyros - the island
Skyros is an island whose history stretches far into the mythological period, where the first traces and clues can be found.
Theseus, Lykomidis, Axill and Neoptolemos are mythological figures who are inextricably linked to the history of the island.
The Neolithic period, the classical period, the Roman and subsequently the Ottoman rule up to the pirate invasions, all of this shaped the island, a habitat with archaic roots, which still live today in the traditional customs and traditions.
In the two museums on the island, the Folklore and Archaeological Museum, you can find many documents and monuments of this important past.

Skyros is the largest island in the island complex of the northern Sporades and is characterized by a unique landscape feature. The northern part of the island is rich in dense pine forests and agricultural areas, in the south there is a shepherd landscape with dense shrub vegetation, which in addition to goats and sheep also offers the unique Skyrian pony a refuge of rare beauty.

The most picturesque point on the island is without a doubt the Chora, the main town on the island, with its houses, which are arranged like an amphitheater and nestle against a 179m high rock. At the top of the rock is the old castle, from where there is a unique view of the vast blue Aegean Sea. The construction of the castle is remarkable, as it is only accessible from one side, all other 3 sides drop steeply to the sea and thus offer a natural fortification against enemy attacks.

Next to the castle is the monastery of St. George, who is the patron saint of the island and from where there is a unique view for visitors.

Of all the beaches on the island, some offer their own aesthetic beauties. On the north side it is the beach of Atsitsa, Agalipa, which can only be reached by boat, Agios Petros, Gyrismata and Pefkos. The south side has the long beach of Kalamitsa and Kolymbada.
The crystal clear water, the clean and translucent seabed in connection with the beauty of the landscape seduce the visitor to feel one with the splendor of the creation that spreads before him.

On a plot of 10ha in a unique location, surrounded by the sea and pine forests and completely quiet, there are 2 guest houses and a salt water pool for common use. The house Bougainvillea with the light blue shutters offers 2 people generous space, but it is possible to accommodate a child. We would provide an extra bed for this. It has 40m2 and is a large room with a double bed, bathroom with toilet, an open kitchen (fridge and cooking facilities available) and a beautiful terrace. The property is planted with fruit trees, olive trees, vegetable patches and lawns. The central point is a salt water swimming pool (50m2) and a barbecue for shared use with Pelagos house. The distance to your own beach is 150m and the difference in height of 65m makes it easier to go down stairs. It is a small private beach that belongs to the property and is not accessible from the outside (only accessible by boat). Since our property is at the end of an unpaved road (1600m from the asphalt road), a car with 4x4 drive is essential. The prices, according to the local car rental companies, are between 40-45 € per day and you should have a little driving experience. The next shopping possibility is around 15min. away and Skyros town is in about 25min. accessible by car. Down in the bay of Pefkos (7min) is the tavern of Stamatia with your traditional tasty dishes.

Skyros is a beautiful island and the apartment is great. The pool is absolutely amazing and we loved spending our afternoons and evenings chilling out by it! The views are incredible and the whole place is just so relaxing. Viola and Kostas are excellent hosts and make sure that you have everything you need.

Utterly beautiful holiday. Adventure to get to Skyros, which became part of the holiday. Costas came to meet us at the port, which made everything so easy on arrival. Arrived at the villa in probably the prettiest and most peaceful setting we have ever been to. Cottages have been done very simply with lovely wood, small antiques and completely functional. Plumbing good, WiFi etc all fine. The pool, the view, the gardens and plant are magical. Lemons, basil and pomegranates were all available around the house, as well as olive trees, roses, figs, lavender etc. Beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate, to the sound of only cicadas and once cool enough in the early evening, lovely to travel out to explore the island and eat amazing food. Shop was a very easy car ride along the main road. Track to the house does need you to have a 4x4.... rough but taking it gently in and out is part of the charm. Costas was a very gracious host, helpful, lovely to talk to and literally could not fault this holiday in any way.

What a beautiful place. A quiet, picturesque, get away from it all place with a stunning view of Pefkos Bay and the surrounding islands. We occupied both villas which are well equipped, clean and comfortable, with air con. The salt water swimming pool is a big plus on the hot summer days. Though most days there is a cooling breeze. Sitting out in the evening is pleasant as there seemed to be very few if any mosquitoes. A highlight for us was star gazing, seeing the Milky Way very clearly and numerous shooting stars. Skyros itself is an island that seems to have avoided the mass tourism of many Greek Islands, probably due to the fact that there are only flights via Athens and so it retains character and beauty. Thank you to Costa and Viola for being excellent villa owners. They live discreetly in the grounds and so you have to make an effort to find them. But find them you should as they are very helpful, especially for places to eat and see. One of our favourite eating places was the souvlaki cafe in Linaria harbour. Teaming with locals, get there early in the height of the season, otherwise you won't get a table. For ice cream, the shop, where they make it, behind the supermarket, outside the Hora, is the best. We look forward to going back.

We were in this little piece of heaven with our little daughter and it was just perfect. The view from the terrace takes your breath away, we just wanted to stay there for ever! The house is build in the middle of nature, perfekt to relax and find yourself. Waking up in the morning and doing yoga by the pool enjoying the view of the endless ocean was priceless! The loving hosts offered us vegetables from their own garden and our daughter just loved their Zucchinis. We did not rent a 4x4 car and had no problems, but we both, my husband and I have lots of experience driving on dirt roads. For inexperienced drivers I would recommend to rent a 4x4. Although we did not want to leave the house, we decided to explore the island and we were not disappointed (Viola and Kostas, our super cool hosts, gave us amazing insider tips). The food, the landscaping, the goats :)…. Everything just wonderful! We are going back, no doubt about it. Viola, Kostas and Platon: Thank you so much for sharing this amazing place with us, you are amazing! Katrin, Eduardo & Valentina
