The Space:
Originally built in the 1800s, this home comes with all the historic New Orleans charm; including 5 original brick fireplaces (for decoration only), the original hard wood floors, 12-foot-high ceilings, and art work by prominent New Orleans artists.

This is classic New Orleans shotgun style home, meaning you could shoot a shotgun through the front-door and it would go through each room on the first floor. You will need to walk through the front bedroom to access the second bedroom that are both on the first floor. The home was recently updated to include all the 21st century amenities, including a spacious, vibrant yard. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, utensils, spices, and coffee. There is also a stocked laundry room, hairdryer, steamer, and complimentary toiletries.

The home is two blocks away from the iconic street car to help you access the city. There are many restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance.

    Space was clean and provided fresh linens, but overall lacked security. The area is not the safest as it is directly near an overpass, which contributes to noise and high foot traffic. We saw evidence of past break ins on the doors, but it appeared little has been done to seal them properly as they let in drafts and had some malfunctioning old locks. In addition, many bedroom doors did not lock or close properly. The layout is odd so the front door, which is the only usable entrance, opens directly to bedroom 1 which made privacy difficult. This floorplan is mentioned briefly in one of the images, but not highlighted prominently in the property description. The historic doors between bedroom 1 and 2 are beautiful but be prepared to not be able to open and close them properly. The heating was also difficult to manage as turning on the heat downstairs led to it being overly hot upstairs.
