The Hut is an amazing property! We enjoyed the water views and the cozy rooms. John's Island has many fun restaurants and it is an easy drive to Charleston. We loved every moment!

The most amazing property that could ever exist. We had our wedding here, and it was an absolute dream. Jane is incredible to communicate and work with and was beyond accommodating and helpful over the past year and a half as we sorted out all the details of our wedding. If you do want to have your wedding here, keep in mind the property is meant for smaller weddings of less than 90, which was perfect for our guest count of 85. There is also a live music ordinance of 9pm, which was fine for us because we stopped live music at 9pm and then did silent disco from 9-10:15pm which was a hit! The property itself is located about 20 minutes from downtown - which was perfect for guests staying downtown. It is truly incredible how secluded the property feels. You only really see 2 other houses off to the side which are very secluded behind beautiful hedges. Inside the house is very charming and vintage and also extremely spacious! There are 3 bathrooms downstairs, 1 large bedroom downstairs, 2 living rooms, and a very spacious front porch that overlooks the marsh. Upstairs is also very spacious with 3 additional bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I could go on and on about the entire property and how beautiful it is and how it truly feels like a lowcountry oasis. Staying there feels like you are in a real-life hallmark movie. Even if you are not having your wedding here, it would be wonderful to stay at just for fun especially if you had a larger group.

The marsh is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The home was dated but comfortable and spacious. We practically lived on the screened in porch watching the changing of the tides, the marsh birds, and the majestic sun rises.

The Hut is more spacious than imagined--the 2 master rooms are spacious and comfortable, as are the two bedrooms. There are 5 bathrooms. FIVE! The kitchen is amazing--there was everything we needed to cook dinner (cookware, spices, table settings, cuttlery). The property is just as pictured. The immense Oak trees are abolutely awe inspiring. The creek in the kayacks are a MUST. My husband and son shared the creek with a friendly dolphin. The property manager is now one on of my favorite people. She promptly communicated and returned what we accidently left behind. Highly recommend this property.

Beautiful huge property with a river at the back end and a pond in front. We did see a small alligator a few times at the pond. Lots of live oak trees and acres of grass. The 1/4 mile drive from the street is all on grass. The house is a blast from the past. I assume it was built in the mid 50's, and much of it is still that way. Lots of wood ceilings and walls. I thought that was super cool. Jane was super responsive when we couldnt find the key and was overall a great host.I would 100% recommend staying at The Hut. It's a bit of a drive to downtown Charleston, but when you stand on the lawn at night, the sky is alive with stars. Well worth being away from the hustle of the city.

What a perfect location among the huge old live oaks. This location is absolutely perfect, you are not close to neighbors, and as I titled it, it's heaven on earth. Beautiful view over the marsh and tidal creek, the sunrises were absolutely beautiful. Fishing was awesome.Couldn't ask for anything better. We are all ready planning home return trips here. Jane, the owner was absolutely wonderful. A true showing of southern hospitality. Can't wait to get back here!

This remarkable location and homey, vintage decor will leave you nostalgic for the days of yore. If you've got a child remotely interested in planes, they'll love watching the small aircraft taking off from the sleepy nearby airport. Kayaking was a blast. This spot is perfect for star gazing, fishing, crabbing, boating, and birdwatching. A perfectly adequate food lion and several restaurants are all less than a 15 minutes drive. Jane was excellent with communications and very quickly ensured that a small issue was quickly resolved. Highly recommend this spot for a quiet, low country getaway.

This property was the perfect setting for family who have not seen each other for over 4 years. We originally had another reservation that was canceled and I quickly started my search and found the Hut. There are no fancy amenities, but everything worked and had exactly what we needed. We all spent our entire time on the back porch with the amazing breeze that came of the creek. The TV in the den never came on because we were always outside. They have a fire pit, Kayaks, grill, fishing poles anything you need for the outdoors, even a hammock in the yard under the giant oaks. I live in West Ashley and would definitely consider booking this home for a staycation. They are quick to respond to every question you may have.

Wonderful house- beautiful yard and surroundings! My family enjoyed the week at Johns Island. They fished at the creek behind the house and saw alligators and a dolphin. There were birds that came every day to the fields. Amazing week!
