Clean and bright
Worked well for our short stay in Hilo
We loved this property and Hilo! Perfect location for exploring this hidden gem. Volcanoes NP, Mouna Kea, and rain forests/waterfalls. Great property. 2 bedrooms. One bathroom. Nicely appointed. We’d definitely come here again
This place is very centrally located plus you get AC. Quiet and perfect for families.
AC is only in the living room Washer and dryer are in another building Has great potential with improvements
10 minutes after arrival the host greeted us to be sure we had no issues with entry and the accomodations were suitable. She inquired if we needed anything to make our stay more enjoyable. She acquainted us with the property and facilities. The inside of the unit was beautiful and spacious for the 3 of us. It was clean and orderly and had everything we could have possibly needed. It was a slight country setting which made the experience even better. We are so appreciative of the opportunity to stay here. It was close to shopping, food, restaurants, town, beach. We loved our experience and would highly recommend.
AC was not working upon arrival and for the duration of the 3 night stay. We notified Maggie of the issue and no alternate accommodations were provided. I am still working with Maggie for some type of refund since the broken AC was a deficiency and not available as advertised. Since the AC was broken we had to sleep with the windows open. At 4:00 AM, the rooster started crowing and didn’t stop until around 9:00 AM. The windows in both bedrooms and next to the front door were broken and could not be secured. Anyone wanting access could easily reach in through the broken window and unlock the front door. The lockbox with the front door key was placed at the bottom of a post and the house rules recommended to replace the key after every use. If you don’t mind sitting on the ground to open the lockbox, then you should be ok but if it’s raining, as Hilo is known for, then have fun. The key to the front door is a special laser cut key and I wouldn’t even be able to guess how much Maggie would charge you for a replacement should you lose it. There were 2 sets of house rules which were inconsistent on use of AC. This really didn’t matter to us since it was broken during our stay but one said you would be charged a fee and one said use of AC was free. There was also a property rules sign that said No Alcohol allowed. No alcohol was also not advertised in the VRBO listing. I have been a user of VRBO in the past and unfortunately, I will never use VRBO again!
This home exceeded my expectations. The location was perfect, providing easy access to the town’s attractions. The house itself was beautifully decorated, clean, and well-maintained. The amenities provided were impressive, including a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, and a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy the tropical breeze. The owner is super friendly and responsive. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Hilo.
The experience was good. The unit was clean and bright, we did not spend a great deal of time in it. It was centrally located allowing easy access to sites, restaurants and family. It would have been nice to have an iron and ironing board in the unit.
We had a great time. Property was very clean. We would love to come back if we travel to Hilo again in the future.
NO KLEENEX, had to go out to buy some..
The property was clean and easy to find. The location was beautiful and well maintained. There is a rooster that lives behind the property who is an early riser but othere then him it was quiet.
The property was clean and well-kept. The lower rating was b/c:(1) the address we were given wasn't the street address. We wandered around for an hr before I finally called the owner, who said, Oh, let me give you the actual street address. And (2) there were house rules posted inside that were not on the website.
Cozy and clean with a friendly host
Nice place. Loved visiting Hilo.
Away from the center of town, but good proximity to Volcanoes National Park. Property was clean and comfortable. The weather was perfect, so we did not need to pay the extra fee for air conditioning.
Great trip. The place looked like the pictures. Not a great walking neighborhood. Not far drive to beaches. Enjoyed our stay!
This place was amazing. Looked like it was just built or just remodeled. Beautiful tile work on the floors and bathroom. On site laundry facility was very convenient. The host, Maggie, was very kind and very open with communication. I will definitely be staying here any time I am back in Hilo.
