Come enjoy this beautiful 1920’s Farm house perched on a hill in a lovely, quiet Takoma Park! This house offers tons of privacy, a huge back Yard (with a tree swing), and a nice front porch to sit and sip your coffee and overlook the neighborhood! It is also super accessible! You can be in DC in just minutes, nearly a straight shot to the beltway, and a nice walk to groceries, restaurants, cafes and metro! We are a block from a park with a natural spring and deer will often stop to sayhi!

The Space
The whole space is yours! The house’s main floor consists of a living room, dining room and kitchen with a laundry closet. Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (1 with a king bed, one with a twin and one with a full) and the bathroom. (**One important note: the hallway to the bathroom and the full bedroom is VERY narrow to the point that it could be uncomfortable for larger guests. We have never had any guests express any issues, but we do want people to be aware of this feature.**) One of the bedrooms has a loft area where there is access to an air mattress for additional sleeping options. Please let us know if you would like that set up!
The back yard has room to run! Or I just with friends with plenty of space for social distancing... their is a charcoal grill for you to use as well!

Old wonderful house. Driveway up & down is tricky. Stove/oven takes some training...lol. If you have bad knees, best find someplace else but I found it charming. Lots of deer, squirrels to enjoy. Quiet neighborhood with narrow roads and beautiful trees.

The property was as shown in the pictures on the listing and was very comfortable. There was parking on the actual premises such that you don't have to park on the street and walk up the hill to the driveway. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was in working order. There was one issue with the property, but the owner resolved it immediately within a few hours and it didn't cause any inconvenience for me. I would definitely stay here again!

The owners were always responsive. The AC had a glitch and they were on it immediately. Lots of birds and nature - very comfortable.

For starters, the hosts were SUPER understanding, due to the nature of why i booked the property I needed to check in a bit early and they handled that with no problem. Additionally, the property is beyond beautiful and spacious. Hosts left a variety of amenities and the house had pretty much anything you could need for a stay. If i ever need to stay in this area again there’s no doubt that this is my only choice for lodging.

Perfect location for our trip to DC. We were able to easily jump on the Metro in Takoma Park. Loved the downtown area as well.Beautiful little area around the house. Plenty of room to relax after a long day of sightseeing!

We were in town for a while for a family gathering. The owners were very friendly and provided a great quiet space. Exactly what we needed and there were no surprises. Very relaxing and all the right amenities.

We really enjoyed our time here, visiting for a two-week DC area vacation. We saw the doe mentioned in other reviews most nights, along with small hares and, my favorite, fireflies! It was very relaxing to sit out back and watch them at dusk. (Though the mosquitos were also plentiful.) We had all the supplies we needed (minus groceries of course) for our extended stay. Beds were comfortable and it was great to have separate areas for us and our two adult kids for that price. Appliances worked. It felt like home. The upstairs hallway IS quite narrow, but it’s not solid walls on both sides so it’s not bad. (One side is wall and the other is stair rail so it doesn’t feel as claustrophobic as two walls would.) There is a definite tilt to the home of a degree or so, so it feels a bit as if things are leaning, but we live in a home of a similar era and we just considered it part of the character. Shouldn’t bother anyone unless you were planning to play marbles on the floor. ;-) The home is within 10 minutes drive of a couple park and ride lots for the Metro. The small parking price was definitely worth not having to drive in DC! Our hosts were great about communication and even offered up some personal recommendations for our trip out to Chincoteague Island. ( BTW I highly recommend Miss Molly’s Inn out there if you are a fan of the Misty books. That’s where Marguerite Henry wrote the book.) Would certainly stay here again if we needed something in the DC area.

Property was great! It is conveniently located between DC and FedEx Field. Jamie, the owner, communicated to us all pertinent information and was quick to respond when contacted. Personally, I love older houses! Each of us four guys slept well and had plenty of room to stretch/spread out. We were visited by a family of deer upon our return from a day trip into our nation's capital. We all were amazed by the beautiful animals. If I were to plan another trip to the DC area, I would absolutely stay in the hilltop hideaway again!

Great place to stay. Not too far to drive to the metro station but didnt feel like we were in the city. Enjoyed the backyard and the deer that slept out there every night.

This old house has so much character with a backyard made inviting to deer. We saw bucks, does and fawns daily. The kitchen is well stocked and even has a crockpot! We enjoyed morning coffee on the front porch in this quiet neighborhood before walking a short distance to Spring Mill Bread —an amazing bakery. The town of Takoma Park also has a fantastic Italian Restaurant and Busboys and Poets has a breakfast to remember. We took the subway into DC most days but if you drive, it’s still a short distance. The Takoma Park subway station has parking but we usually walked from the house if the weather was nice. Jamie and Victor went above and beyond to accommodate and make us feel welcome. We appreciated their communication throughout our stay.
