Stayed Oct 15, 2025This place is stunning! So unique, beautifully decorated and very peaceful. My girls are begging to come back. The drive there is gorgeous. You really feel like you are getting away from it all! Thank you for creating this haven!!

Stayed Jun 29, 2025This place was exactly what we’d hoped it would be. My wife and I stayed for seven nights, along with our dog. The location is secluded and breathtaking. Tons of room to walk and get outside. We could be in Burnsville in 15-20 mins and did lots of fly fishing within a half hour or so of the house. We would highly recommend this place to those looking to get away

Stayed Dec 29, 2024We had a wonderful time staying at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The dedicated game room, complete with a pool table and board games, added so much fun to our stay, and the cozy decorations and thoughtful color choices made the space feel warm and cozy. The location was perfect—conveniently close to many attractions, such as the nearby ski resort and the charming small city of Burnsville. The hosts, Brett and Alyson, were incredibly responsive and went above and beyond by providing a detailed binder full of recommendations for local activities and dining options. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be Wi-Fi access, as there was no cellular signal in the area. However, they did make it clear that there was not going to be Wi-Fi due to the recent storm. Thankfully, the satellite messaging feature on my iPhone gave us peace of mind during the trip. On the bright side, being offline gave us the opportunity to disconnect and truly focus on spending quality time together.Overall, if we’re ever looking for a cozy and relaxing place to stay in the North Carolina mountains, we would definitely return to this property. Highly recommended!

Stayed Aug 30, 2024We had the best little get away weekend in the mountains. The wifi was not working (they let us know beforehand!) so we also had a moment to disconnect from day to day craziness. The views were great, the juke box was so much fun, and we played lots of pool! We also went into town, highly recommend the brewery in Burnsville. The stairs are pretty steep, so we did have to carry our pup up them. (Just something to be aware of!)

Stayed Oct 27, 2023We loved the Terrapin Station barn! It was exactly what we were looking for in a place to stay to enjoy the fall colors. The barn sits tucked away from the main house for privacy, but also has a great mountain view of its own. It was comfortable and spacious for the two of us and our lab Jake. It has a ton of character and is also very photogenic for great vacation pics! We loved the pool table and jukebox. We opened up the barn door and enjoyed the great weather and the front porch. We even got to visit with the neighbors horses each morning! It is a great place to unplug and enjoy nature. The views from the road are spectacular! Brett and Alyson are great hosts and will make sure you have an awesome visit. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Oct 20, 2023We celebrated our birthdays at this adorable Barn. Wi-Fi is extremely limited, and very little action with the TV, just had a few DVD movies provided. Otherwise we had a wonderful time and highly recommend staying here. The owners provided excellent hospitality.

Stayed Sep 22, 2023I can’t say enough good things about our stay here. They provide everything you could need to cook a good meal, enough games to keep you occupied for atleast a week, and the views will take your breath away. They provided a map for the trail to the waterfall, and I’m so glad we took the hike! A great place to enjoy family time, and we can’t wait to visit again.

Stayed Jun 30, 2023Such a fun, unique place. The decor is eclectic antique and the location is scenic and quiet. A bit of Smokey Mountain heaven. It’s a bit of a drive to get to Burnsville, but there’s lots to look at on the way there. Bedroom is large and bed is comfortable. Bathroom is cutely decorated. Kitchen has all the basics. Can’t go wrong staying here!

Stayed Nov 22, 2022Excellent thanksgiving trip, no complaints. Can’t wait to get back! Something to be said about unplugging from the world, away from cell phones and internet. Playing pool and bonfires on front porch, priceless! Easy trips to downtown Burnsville and Asheville. Even had a chance to rundown to the Cane river to fly fish with my daughter, couple nice rainbow trout were caught! Thanks guys for putting together the coolest barn ever!
