Heron View Cottage Coastal Family Stay

Beautiful location. Spacious cottage. Host is very accommodating. Very close to the bay and a short walk to Sidney downtown.

The owner is very nice and made us feel welcome. The place is lovely, perfect for what we need. Excellent location.

The house felt like home. The host, Rick, called ahead of time to make arrangements to meet us to make sure we had all the details we needed. The rental owner, Jim, came and introduced himself which was such a personal touch. The home had a great variety of games and books for all ages. The view was awesome and Sidney is a place that continues to draw us back.

Great cottage, well equipped, very nicely decorated. Extremely welcoming host. Will definitely look to rebook on next trip to Sidney.

We enjoyed our long weekend stay. Close to everything. Well cared for property with nice furnishings. We will return some day.

We left after one night because of light streaming through the skylight in the upstairs bedroom Communication with EMR was very poor . They kept sending messages asking how we were doing even though we told them that we had had to leave to get some sleep. They showed no sympathy. I would never book with EMR again. They refused any compensation.

We traveled to Sidney to visit our son’s family and our new grandson who was eight weeks old when we arrived.The house was amazing! Very comfortable! We were able to host dinner most evenings and enjoy the company of family and friends. The location was about a mile from downtown, quiet, and welcoming.We will be asking to reserve this house again for our next visit to Sidney. Highly recommend this house on dates we don’t reserve it…LOL!

Beatiful property

We love staying at Heron View Cottage. I travel with my elderly mother and everything is easily accessible for her. It is clean and the location makes you feel like you're truly on vacation. It is convenient for the Butchart Gardens and downtown Victoria is also easy to get to. Jim is a lovely host.

This is a beautiful cottage with lots of charm. Great location. Sidney is quaint town with lots of things to do. Very walkable town. The check in was easy, the owner was lovely to visit with. Beautiful garden and outdoor seating areas. Very clean and comfortable.

The accommodation was gorgeous, especially the surrounding gardens, pathways, and patio. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping. It was very peaceful. The bedrooms were comfortable and adequately spacious; be aware the drapes are not heavy so the morning light enters the rooms early. It was nice to have two full baths. The kitchen is compact but functional. There were limited extras in terms of any food items ( no sugar for instance). The check-in was restrictive for our personal travel plans as we were up island and wanting to take the Mill Bay ferry which cannot be pre-booked. As a result of having to meet the greeter at a set time, we had to cut short our touring around and despite getting to the ferry early we missed getting onboard. We were car number 20 and 21, and they only take 19. This meant driving the Malahat and getting into Sidney an hour before our check-in time. The actual owner of the property was very friendly, and helpful and has a devoted green thumb and passion for his home and gardens.

We would highly recommend this property. Beautiful setting, extremely clean and comfortable, with the perfect host!! The coffee pot broke and was replaced within hours. Will definitely choose to stay here again when we come back to Sidney!
