Herbst's Hideaway on Seneca Lake

place was well stocked with housewares to make our meals in the evening. Convenient to the wine trail being halfway up the west side. i would definitely rent from again.

This place was beautiful and just as described. My wife and her friends had an amazing time and loved the proximity of the house to the wineries.

If you’re looking for a place that you can just bring your food and your clothes and enjoy everything. This is the place for you. This host has everything you need in the home from the kitchen to the bathrooms to the outside activities. They have made it so easy to just walk in the door and relax I know we’ll be back

This house was beautiful! It was stocked with just about everything you could possibly need. The owners go above and beyond in providing necessities and making this place comfortable. The peacefulness outside is amazing. It is so quiet and serene while still being close to many activities. The owners were extremely friendly and answered all my questions quickly.

The Kitchen was so well equipped. Host was so helpful. beautiful view and memories made on lovely dock with great chairs. Comfortable beds plenty of towels in bathrooms.

We've stayed at Herbst Hideaway several times and it never disappoints. Great location on Seneca Lake. We will most certainly return for another visit!

This was our group’s 5th year at Herbst Hideaway! The location is fantastic for wining, dining, relaxing and just hanging out. Matt is super responsive and the house has everything we need. We already booked 2026!

We visit the FLX quite often and this property was the best we ever rented for 4 couples. We loved how spacious the house was and every imaginable amenity for an ultra comfortable stay was at our fingertips. Matt was super easy to communicate with and eager to make our stay enjoyable. We normally prefer to stay on the east side of Seneca, but this home will definitely bring us back to the Penn Yan area.

For the last few summers we’ve really enjoyed staying at Herbst Hideaway. The location can’t be beat; it’s right on beautiful Seneca Lake where we can watch the sunrise each morning. The house is open and airy as well as fully equipped with everything we need. Matt is always available via phone if needed.

The property is very nice and fully supplied with everything a renter can imagine. Tons of water equipment for the lake including shoes to protect every one from zebra muscle shells.Excellent

LOVE THE LAKE LIFE!This was our 2nd year staying at Matt & Julia’s home and our family had a fantastic week! Besides the fabulous view of the lake, the home is extremely clean and well equipped both inside and out. There were plenty of kayaks for adults and even some for the children. Their comfortable home accommodated our family of 6 adults and 4 granddaughters perfectly with plenty of sleeping options and lots of space to hang out together. This is also by far the cleanest rental we have ever stayed at. We've already booked for next year's family memories!

This was a fantastic place to stay! They had every amenity we may need, some thoughtful touches, and it was a gorgeous home. Would definitely stay again.

Had a great long weekend with a group of my friends at Herbst Hideaway! Although the weather did not turn out as we were hoping for, we had a great time staying at this property. Beautiful view, very clean and well stocked with everything you needed. Beds were extremely comfortable. Matt answered any questions we had right away. I couldn’t have picked a better place for our first time visiting Finger Lakes. Definitely recommend.

This was our fourth time staying at Herbst Hideaway and I'm sure we'll be back again. The house never disappoints! Communication with owner is easy and prompt. This is one of my all-time favorite VRBO homes!

Beautiful house right on the lake. View was gorgeous. House was clean, bedding was very comfortable, kitchen well stocked with everything we needed. The only drawback was the drive into the property. We didn’t know it was 2 miles off the road on an unpaved road. That did not deter us. We still loved it and I still highly recommend it. We had a wonderful time with our family.

The house was just as described! Beautiful, clean and very well stocked! We were able to enjoy the fire pit in the evening and our son got a little fishing in from the dock. This was a short weekend getaway for some of our family. We all would love to go back and spend more time enjoying the area and time at this lakefront home! Thank you !

Our annual stay at this property is always a winner. The place is always clean and extremely well-stocked. The location is very central to all FLX activities. Our group of 4 couples begins to plan our next visit before we even check out! Highly recommend.

The house provided our family with a bedroom for each of us. The kitchen was fully equipped to allow us to cook breakfast and dinner every day. The living area was adequate so we could gather to chat & play games. Sunrise was stunning!

Look no further, you’ve stumbled upon the PERFECT house! This property is an absolute gem! The house is situated perfectly on the lake with the most stunning views. Plenty of space allows for individuals to spread out, but also enjoy time together in the common areas such as living room and perfect outdoor space. It was so nice to stay in a well-stocked house from the kitchen to the toys and water activity supplies.We found that this house and overall location has something to offer for everyone! This was certainly a vacation to remember where we were able to create wonderful memories in a beautiful place. Thank you for everything!

My family and I had a fantastic time once again at this beautiful lake house! The location is right on beautiful Seneca Lake and is super close to the wineries/breweries. Matt was always available if we had questions and the house was very clean. We loved our stay!
