Stayed Feb 16, 2020Bungalo very spacious and open. Comfortable furniture and tastefully decorated with some quirky islands touches. Short walk to cliffs and beach. Property has abundance of palms, fruit trees and flowers. Just step outside and pick a fresh banana or papaya. Owner very helpful and friendly. Will definately rent this property again.

Stayed May 9, 2025In short, if you are planning on a few days, a week, or even longer in Hana Town, you are the kind of person who will love this bungalow.Hana Ocean Palms Bungalow is a place to settle in for a while when exploring the southeast side of Maui. The grounds have a very tropical forest atmosphere. The birds and mongoose scurrying in and out of the banana plants, Hawaiian Ginger everywhere, other types of palms with ferns and orchids high in the air, just a very comfortable place to sit and take it all in after a long day of hiking the Pipiwai Trail, ʻOheʻo Gulch (Seven Sacred Pools) and plenty of sightseeing. Speaking of sightseeing, Waioka Pond (the infamous Venus Pool) is just a fifteen-minute walk. The inside is rustic and comfortable. The kitchen is small but has everything you might need. The bedrooms and beds are very nice, but the bed out on the enclosed front porch was amazing! Albert, the host, is great. If you have the chance to meet him, you will be better off for it. Thank you again Albert!

Stayed Jan 31, 2025We loved Albert’s place and the magic he has hidden in this quaint gem of a cottage. What a host! So many lovely surprises during our stay we had the privilege to discover in the area and on the property . Be sure to go to the local farmers market. Bring 2 bills. They are a special compliment here and considered lucky. I love plants and was able to spend some time learning all about the ginger, bananas, orchids, coconuts, avocados and what seemed like dozens of other amazing finds right there. There is a breathtaking waterfall just a few miles past this place in a secluded setting like you have never seen. We saw breathtaking sunrises on an empty beach just a few minutes away. There are even more surprises we will leave for you to discover on your own. The hardest part was saying goodbye. We had some time on the west side after for a corporate get together at the Ritz Carlton and while lovely, it paled in comparison on so many levels and lacked the soul and uniqueness this area has. I could have stayed right there on the screened in front porch the rest of our time and been perfectly content. Albert’s love and care shines through this space. If you are anything like us it will remain in your hearts forever. Enjoy your stay.

Stayed Dec 26, 2024This location is so perfect, we enjoyed multiple trips to the venus pools and listening to all the creatures at night. We spent hours reading on the front porch bed and listening to brief rainstorms. Heaven. Grateful to our host for showing us all the fruit and coconut trees around us.

Stayed Dec 20, 2024Our stay at Hana Ocean Palms Bungalow was exactly as we hoped for when booking. Close to Venus Pool where we were the only ones there with all the tropical smells, sights, and sounds. Location allowed us to explore more than you can on the drive and return trip,

Stayed Sep 12, 2024The Ocean Palms Bungalow is the perfect vacation home on the road to Hana. It is set back and hidden from the road and is surrounded by beautiful trees and a lush garden. I stayed at a similar cottage years ago but that home was sold and taken off the rental market. I have been searching for another like it for years but nothing has ever compared until now. The house is not a sleek, modern place with all new matchy- matchy furniture. But that is exactly what makes this place so special. It looks as if it was put together in stages just as your own home might be. Everything was in good condition and the house was cozy, clean, and comfortable. Ceiling fans and screened windows kept us cool. A hammock on the screened back porch and a bed on the screened front porch were delightful places to relax with a book! We loved being visited by the property’s cats. The house is a short walk to the ocean and a short distance to purchase supplies. It was everything that we wanted. We island hopped on this trip but after reaching the Hana house we wished we had spent our entire 2-week vacation here.

Stayed Aug 20, 2024Our family of four, including two teens, stayed here for two nights during an 8 day trip to Maui. Staying at this house was our favorite part of the trip. We walked to the Venus pool each morning and swam alone and loved how different staying here was from the huge resorts. We will be back for sure.

Stayed Jul 31, 2024This little bungalow has the perfect Hana location. We were able to walk to the Venus Pool and be the only ones there. The property manager walked around the property with us and gave us some fruit to try. The jungle surrounding the house is so beautiful. Upon entrance to the house I was worried. It was pretty dang hot. It did cool down at night/early early morning but I do think a couple more fans would be helpful (the one in the back room doesn't work). We were eaten alive by mosquitos (yes, some in the house). If I had known, or thought about it more, I would have taken light-weight pants. We did have plenty of bug spray but no one likes to be covered in bug spray all the time. There is a queen bed on the front porch, a queen bed in the first bedroom and then another queen bed and twin bed in the back room. The one bathroom is small but sufficient. Beside the mosquitos we didn't have any other bug problems but we weren't there for too long. We enjoyed the geckos in and outside the house. There were some beach chairs, boogie boards and sand toys that we used. It is quaint and a little rustic but I would stay again.

Stayed Jul 16, 2024From the moment our family stepped foot onto this amazing property we all knew we were staying someplace special. The yard is full of flowering plants and edible plants. The house walks a fine balance of kitschy and homey decor. With three lanais and one full bedroom to choose from for sleeping our family literally slept in a different place every night! The property is perfectly located between Hamoa/Koki Beach and Pipiwai Trail. It's crowning achievement though is to be located directly across the street from the Waioka Pond (Venus Pools)! I cannot overstate how incredible it is to simply want to go hand out at WP and be a five minute walk to it! The cherry on top is the fabulous outdoor shower for washing off after your amazing adventures. Bamboo walls, lava rock floor, living plants, and the stars for your roof makes showering such a joy! Of course there is a full bathroom in the house if you don't like the outdoor shower. My family loved our time here. We will certainly return.
