We enjoyed the sun rise and sun set very much. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the full expanse of the ocean, beach and the sky. Made us appreciate the beauty of the place.
Staff not friendly
Beautiful and magical and calming place to relax and check out for a few days. Highly recommend - plus nice to do reverse road to Hana in the way out while traffic is coming into Hana
Visit to Hana to complete Maui vacation. Wonderful location with spectacular views
We loved staying at Hana Kai! The soothing sound of the waves at nite, the view and peaceful garden was wonderful. Our favorite on the island! Mahalo!
Incredibly nice room, view of black sand beach and sound of waves can’t be beat. Easy check in and check out, great stay.
Greta place to stay in Hana. Stunning
Great place to stay
Unit and property were beautiful. The view was awesome. Accommodations were wonderful.
The view from the large windows made it difficult to leave the property and enjoy Hana! This property is Paradise Found!
This was such a comfortable place to stay. Even better in person. Breathtaking views. A group of 6 adults (all family) stayed here comfortably. Definitely want to come back.
If large crashing waves and gorgeous views of them are what you’re looking for, look no further. This is the best unit in the entire complex and sunrises are epic. Thank you for making our Hana experience one to always remember!
It was amazing everything ❤️
Hana was like a step back in time with many local Hawaiians. Not much going on so plan to relax and bring a book. Only one restaurant and about 20 food trucks but the food is good. It was such a delight to come back to our unit and have dinner on the patio. Unit number five is very special and may be the best VRBO we have ever rented. The view is spectacular, it has been updated and we couldn’t have been happier.
The views at this property cannot be beat. It was amazing watching the waves crashing from the living room and the huge attached covered balcony. Kitchen was spacious and property was located near the food trucks and restaurant. My only suggestion would be to possibly install a window ac unit to help cool the house on those rainy, muggy days. Other than that the house was fabulous.
Great views and tranquil spot. Lovely apartment and great for relaxing in with both an indoor and outdoor lounge area. My only suggestion would be that the owners change the pullout coach mattress as it is lumpy thin and uncomfortable.
Absolutely incredible
The view was spectacular and made up for the otherwise dated and tired property. Cleanliness was subpar. Hot water was hit or miss. We enjoyed our stay, especially the view and setting, but would have rated higher if the property was better maintained.
The #5 unit (2BR/2BA) must have some of the best ocean front views in Hana. From our bed, we watched the sun rise both mornings of our stay. The private access point to the neighboring black rock beach area meant we had almost a private beach experience. Plenty of seating both on an outside porch and inside dining table for our family of 5 to enjoy meals from the local food trucks. A fantastic Hana experience!
Our jaws literally dropped as we entered this unit and saw ocean views from every room. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of crashing waves. Staying here made a huge difference in how much we enjoyed our journey to Hana. We absolutely loved every moment of our stay.
This was a lovely change from the busier side of the island, and felt very peaceful. Listening to the crashing waves while sleeping and looking out at the water while sitting on the lanai was very relaxing. Kitchen was well equipped but we didn’t really cook and instead enjoyed the nearby food trucks and Hana Farms Bamboo Hale. If you do plan to cook, you might want to shop before heading east as the grocery in town is very small. This was a great place and we highly recommend this spot.
This property was just as described online. It was a beautiful quiet getaway for the end of our vacation on Maui.
I would stay here again. The two bedrooms worked really well for us. Only negative was no A/C. It was very humid and a little uncomfortable sleeping but that’s just us! Otherwise just outstanding!
We fell asleep watching a lightening storm in the bay outside our bedroom window - a once in a lifetime experience. With basically no lights in Hana, this was breathtaking. The downside was that it was too wet for us to enjoy being outside. Being so close to the ocean, we are basically in the mist or rain cloud continuously- making the decks unusable. As for the property, we were very quite pleased. I had made an error in booking for 2 guests instead of 6 but they kindly accommodated us by bringing extra sheets (even though housekeeping had gone home). Additionally, they washed and dried a bunch of wet clothing and bedding for us in their industrial machines behind the front desk. So kind. The kids enjoyed playing board games at the dining table. Kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Master bed was nice and firm. We wished that the bathrooms had locks on the doors. Also there was a strange cut-out in the master bath making it so that you could see right in. But I would recommend this property to friends.
