Taft Ranch is a half acre Historic property with a barn and a water tower. Guests will only have access to the house, which has 4 large bedrooms 3 upstairs and 1 downstairs with 3 bathrooms 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs. With a porch and sunroom. The water tower is occupied by a couple that maintain the property.
We had a wonderful time with an easy access to a wedding venue and restaurants. The only complaint is a poor communication from the owner. I had to call for an access code, check-out process, etc., which should have been provided ahead of time.
Thanks
Awesome home with lots of space. Plenty of parking and in a great location. We took a walk down to the orange circle from the house. The host is not very responsive through VRBO, best contact is to give them a call.
Really cute house! Nice big bedrooms with comfortable beds. Living room seating area is limited. Wished we had had a bigger couch since there were eight of us trying to watch television and it only accommodated 2 people at best. Couldn’t find remote controls for the bedroom televisions and the ones we found for the living room didn’t have good batteries, so that was unfortunate. Loved the backyard seating areas; wish we’d had a longer stay so that we could’ve enjoyed it more. Super quaint! We would stay here again.
My fiancee (now wife) and I stayed here as our getting-ready house for our wedding day, along with my parents. It was perfect! The house is a beautiful craftsman so it was great for taking photos and we did our first look in the back yard. There was plenty of space for our bridal party of 9 to get ready, and then the deep tub was just what we needed to relax in after a long day. We highly recommend staying here!
Very difficult to get a hold of owner. Had several of our guest stay in a hotel since we received the check in information at around 5pm check in day. They had to prepare for an event that evening and needed to get cleaned up and changed. Had to scramble at the last minute since we had no idea if we would ever receive the check in info.
When we arrived the house was freezing cold. We were told that the heater upstairs would work well and the main floor pilot light was out but they would turn it on for us if need be. We tried to contact the owner after a day of trying to endure walking around in blankets and resetting the breaker which was being tripped by the small space heaters but they didn’t see our message right away and didn’t respond until almost the end of our stay. The house was large and proper for a large group but being so close to a main road and having old windows it was incredibly loud. The house had many room fragrance plug ins which were overpowering and gave several of us headaches, we had to unplug many of them because it was too cold to open the windows for fresh air. The grounds were lovely with many fruit trees and places to gather as a group.
We were finally comfortable enough to fly again. Our family headed to Disneyland. We were so excited to be there. The house was exactly like the pictures. However, we had a few heating issues with the house but once Ruben came by, all the issues were resolved. He even gave us a full tour of the house and property! The property had trees of mandarin oranges, blood oranges, avocados, papaya and bananas which we were welcomed to pick from. Having fresh picked mandarin oranges and blood oranges first thing in the morning or after a long day at Disneyland was just absolutely delightful! The beds were really comfortable and the Uber was really convenient and affordable to Disneyland. We really enjoyed sitting in the solarium sipping our coffee and enjoying precious family time. Our stay in this beautiful historic house and property was just perfect for our family vacation. Thank you Ruben for sharing your home with us!
We chose this VRBO for its proximity to a wedding venue. The home is lovely with all the charm you would expect from a Craftsman style home. The bathrooms are nicely updated and the beds were comfy! You won't be disappointed!
Beautiful home, original woodwork, fruit trees on property, comfortable beds…. AND…. Bonus…. $10 Uber to Disneyland. Family of seven really enjoyed staying in this beautiful home. All amenities included. Lots of parking space. We were only there for sleeping really… up early and home late… suited us perfect.
We had plenty of space, a great location for attending a convention and Disneyland. It is a charming house and cool property.
Our immediate family (7 adults) stayed here for two nights to do some activities in the area. Most of us were from the L.A. area, two from Maryland, one from Arizona. The property had many benefits for us - nice neighborhood, off street parking, outside sitting areas - front porch and side patio, 4 bedrooms - one on the first floor with a full bathroom down there - which was a plus for us, and, many inside sitting and eating areas to name a few. It was also nice to have two bathrooms upstairs for the 3 bedrooms up there. The bathrooms had been updated and were clean and tidy. The bedrooms have nice furniture and the linens were also very nice. The bedrooms are all a good size. The house has lots of room. Overall, it is a very interesting house and property. It reminded the kids of their grandparents houses with its interesting design and fixtures. I don't mean that in a negative way - just more old-style downstairs. The house had everything we needed and more (bathrooms had some toiletries, and the kitchen has some supplies) , and everything that we came upon worked. Granted we were not in the house for many meals, but the kitchen and the home are well equipped. The only downer for us was that on our visit the lights on the outside, side patio did not work, and the firepit was not connected. There was work being done outside on the property (not when we were there) so that could have been why. It is a very nice outside area with nice seating and a roof over the area with fruit trees and other vegetation surrounding it - a real plus for us. We just like being outside to congregate, and we did get to do that on the morning of our last day so it was not a big deal. I would ask beforehand, if that is something that you like to do, and have time for at night. I will ask next time if we have the opportunity to stay here again. This is about the 5th time that we have stayed at a rental property, and this one was definitely near or at the top of the list.
Came to CA for a National softball tournament, played in 8 different parks in the area and this house was just 30 mins or less from each field. House is a treasure and unique, comfortable for my family of 6. Close to food and Walmart. The owners were great (washer wasn't working and they replaced it the next day) They checked on us just enough to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. Will stay again if ever back to the area.
Nice property. Very cool historical building. Super easy to get to Disneyland.
We were in the area for a weekend wedding the house was perfect with all the essentials and the owners was very helpful and easy to communicate with.
The house was spotless and beautiful. The owner is very responsive. We would definitely want to come back Thank you for the stay
