Are you ready for something spectacularly different at the cape Pull down the long private drive and the Jewel of the Cape stands ready to greet you! When you pull up, you may believe you are stepping into a private residence on Bourbon Street, but go up the steps and you will quickly realize you are gulf front on the fantastic beach on the north end of Cape San Blas! It truly is the best of both worlds and nothing compares to this experience! 2,500 square feet of continuous porches/decks completely surround the entire both living levels of the home and there are eight separate full size sliders, each with side windows leading onto the decks. There is a private gated dune walkover connected to the lower living level deck. Both the upper and lower level decks are fully furnished with poly-wood seating areas, a swing, and chaise lounges. There is also a hot/cold outdoor shower and dog wash area on the lower deck, just beyond the dune walkover gate. There is one security camera used at the property in the parking level carport area entrance because the entrance to the property there is isolated and not visible to any other property. That camera is plugged in inside the kitchen of the home, but there are no cameras inside the home.

Stepping into the living level of the home, you will be greeted by historic New Orleans style decor and a brick floor, with a welcoming sitting area, complete with a 48 TV. Just beyond is the open kitchen with extra large island with 4 counter stools and a gas range. On the other side of the island is antique cabinetry below and open shelving above, and at the far end of the kitchen is a dining table and chairs. Through the sliding door in the kitchen, there is a huge dining area on the exterior porch. Also, on this level are two bedrooms. First, gulf front king master and private bath with a separate jacuzzi tub, tiled shower and double sinks. Second, a large east facing bedroom with a double over double bunk bed with twin size trundle underneath , with a bedroom door to the hall bath. This full bath also opens to the living area and contains a tiled shower, as well as a full sized washer and dryer.

Leaving the living area, going up the open stairway in the living room, you will see the ornate cornices and a wrought iron gate leading to the upper level. When you reach the top, you will see another complete living area which is open to the pool table area. Each area has it's own TV. There are two more bedrooms on this level. First is the gulf front king master and master bath with the same footprint as the master downstairs. Second, is another king master with access to the shared hall bath. This bath has a tiled shower and another full sized washer and dryer. The exterior deck on this level has a bar area, a full size hot tub and the most spectacular view! Rest on the poly wood chaise lounges, or sit in the hot tub and watch the dolphins go by! From the 2nd floor, you will also see the wrought iron spiral stairs leading to the crow's nest room. As you can imagine, the views only get better the higher you go, so pick any window up here and enjoy!!! The crow's nest room is for ADULTS ONLY, because spiral stairs leading to the crow's nest room are NOT FOR KIDS. Please do not allow children access to or to play on the spiral stairs!!!

Jewel of the Cape is literally around the corner from the entrance to St Joseph’s Peninsula State Park, which has been voted #1 beach in the US. Jewel is not a new, standard, run of the mill beach house. This is old world Florida at it's best! With it's natural surroundings, huge dunes and the historical significance of this home, you and your family/friends will never forget your stay at Jewel of the Cape!

We loved our stay at the Jewel of the Cape. Palm trees and vegetation around the house provided privacy from the neighbors, and the house's location was perfect on the less crowded north end of the Cape.

This is my second time…. Would’ve been my third but it was booked last year. The cape is beautiful and if you want to get away from everything… this is the place. I recommend you make a list for everything you may need cause it’s a drive to anywhere but if you are prepared you won’t want to leave. I brought my jet skis and had a ball out back even had a bunch of dolphins swim with me

A great beach house that doesn’t look like your typical beach house which makes it unique and special! The outdoor decks are awesome, with so much room and great furniture for everyone. Of course, the sunsets are spectacular from the upper deck.We saw so many dolphins playing in front of the house and found some great keepsake shells.Communication with the host was easy and any questions we had were answered in a very timely manner. We look forward to returning again to this property.

We stay in a lot of VRBO‘s. This property was a rare treat. It is built from a lot of repurposed materials with a New Orleans feel. We loved it! It has great access to the beach, plenty of deck space with high-quality furniture. With it tucked down a long driveway it is an extremely private space. It has great access to the beach and the emerald water and white sand beach makes it an amazing place to stay. Would definitely come back again!

It was the coolest house on the cape! So much character! Plenty of space - locations great- close to state park and walking distance to come heads. We loved everything about the house

Property is unique with cool furnishings/design. Wrap around porch & decks/boardwalks are awesome. However, inside stairs (especially metal spiral staircase) is unsafe for children. There was one wooden gate available which didn’t fit anywhere. We were constantly on edge watching the toddlers. The beach was nice & private & much wider than other areas. Upon preparing for professional family photos on the beach, we could not find a single blow dryer! Luckily we had brought an iron as we asked before arrival. We didn’t think we had to worry about a hairdryer! Also, how does a rental of this price range not have an ice machine in the refrigerator?? Very inconvenient to drive to the Trading Post multiple times for ice. Also, water from tap is very warm and again, no cold water dispenser from fridge! The water osmosis filtration unit which was boasted about on framed information in the house did not work! Another disappointment…. The oven is not working properly. One day it took us 3 hours to try to get hot enough temps for a cobbler…another morning, 2 hours to get a pan of biscuits done: Very frustrating! The top burners do not seem to have a low flame & many food items scorched due to high heat… All in all we had a nice stay but it would have been much easier if the above referenced items had been present. Very nice location. The house is a delightful surprise when you see it. We enjoyed our stay. Only downside is how dirty it is. Needs a good cleaning. Def. Recommend
