Summary:

Wake to redwood light filtering across the deck of this dog-friendly cabin, a 3-minute walk from the neighborhood beach on the Russian River and 0.6 miles from downtown Guerneville. Soak in the private hot tub under the canopy, then warm up by the wood-burning fireplace inside. Two bedrooms and a twin sleep up to 5 in original clear-heart redwood rooms.

The Space:

Spend mornings walking three minutes to the neighborhood beach on the Russian River, afternoons tasting at nearby Guerneville wineries or wandering downtown 0.6 miles away, and evenings on the deck as the redwoods catch the last of the light.

Settle into wicker and upholstered chairs around the brick wood-burning fireplace, where original clear-heart redwood walls meet exposed beams overhead and a collection of Russian River postcards from the early 1900s lines the built-in shelves. Linger over dinner in the dining room, where two banks of windows open straight into the redwood grove and the home sits in a sunlit clearing that pulls light through most of the day. Cook on the classic Wedgewood stove in a period-perfect kitchen with checkered linoleum underfoot, plenty of counter space for prepping a Sonoma-sourced dinner, and a microwave and oven for the easy nights. Cooling here is cross-breezes and open windows only -- no central AC.

OUTDOOR LIVING

Step onto the huge wraparound deck built around the redwoods themselves, with string lights overhead, a weathered dining table for alfresco meals, and a gas grill at the ready. Slip into the private hot tub on its own platform, screened by privacy fencing and forest greenery, with a converted antique bathtub-and-water-pump fountain nearby providing the soft sound of running water.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Three sleeping spaces accommodate up to 5 guests:

- Bedroom 1: Queen bed, redwood-paneled with vintage furnishings

- Bedroom 2: Queen bed, redwood-paneled with coral-toned bedding and a vintage dresser

- Multi-purpose room: Twin bed that doubles as a sitting nook

PROPERTY AMENITIES

- Private hot tub under the redwoods

- Wood-burning fireplace

- Vintage Wedgewood stove and full kitchen

- String-lit deck with gas grill

- Dog-friendly

- 3-minute walk to the neighborhood beach

Good to know: the home sits back two lots from Hwy 116, but some road noise carries through. The Russian River area also has narrow, winding roads and homes with stairs -- reach out before booking if either is a concern.

Guest Access:

Drift out to the private hot tub among the redwoods, fire up the wood-burning fireplace inside, and let the original wood paneling do its vintage work — string lights running over the deck. You've got the whole home, dogs welcome, with a BBQ and an enclosed yard so the dogs can roam. Grab the key from the lockbox; up to four cars fit, two in the driveway plus two parallel along the fence turnout.

The Neighborhood:

Your cabin sits in a quiet redwood grove just a 3-minute walk from the neighborhood beach — perfect for morning dog walks or afternoon swims. Downtown Guerneville's dining scene starts just 0.6 miles away at Saucy Mama's soul food joint, followed by the beloved Guerneville Taco Truck at Safeway (0.8 mi) where locals line up for breakfast burritos. For groceries, that same Safeway is your closest option at 0.7 miles. Wine tasting begins at nearby Korbel Champagne Cellars (2.6 mi), or venture to Porter-Bass Winery (2.2 mi) for small-production Biodynamic wines. The iconic Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve is a quick drive for hiking among ancient giants. Summer brings river floating at Johnson's Beach, while Guerneville River Park (1.0 mi) offers year-round riverside walks. Your pup will love Bruno Farnocchia Dog Park (2.5 mi) with its off-leash area and agility equipment.

Getting Around:

Guerneville is about 90 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive through vineyards and into the redwoods. You'll have parking for up to 4 vehicles: two in the driveway inside the gate, plus two more in the turnout by the fence. A car makes the Russian River Valley easy to explore, from redwood trails to riverside wineries. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.

Other Things to Note:

While the cabin sits two lots back from Highway 116, you may detect some road noise — it's the trade-off for being close to everything. The home stays naturally cool thanks to the redwood shade and doesn't have AC, though you'll find it's rarely needed under the forest canopy. The vintage Wedgewood stove works beautifully but may take a moment to figure out — light the pilot first, then turn the knob. The primary renter must be 21 or older. The Russian River area has narrow, winding roads that are part of its charm — take your time and enjoy the drive through the trees.

Sweet, classic cabin in Guernewood! The home is old and clean. Fit our family (2 adults, 1 preschooler, 1 infant) with room to spare. Nice hot tub. A quick walk to a nice beach (turn right onto the highway, it’s the opening in the gate past the condos). WiFi at the house is a bit slow, but you’re on vacation—log off!

This is a classic Russian River cabin. It's small, but very cozy. It's got everything we needed. We loved the big deck and it's very quiet. Close to everything. Not fancy but a real value. We will come again.

I stayed here last year and hoped for the same experience this year. Cabin reminds me of places i stayed at in the area back in the 1960s. Kitchen was well supplied, nice bathroom, cabin was very clean, centrally located to everything and very reasonably priced. Hot tub was nice, clean and private. However, every chair or sofa was very uncomfortable with the sofa having a piece of plywood under the cushions for support. Mattresses very firm and uncomfortable, no extra blankets unless taken from other beds, no closet space, good tv choices but very limited sport's offerings, internet was inconsistent, over- grown bushes throughout the property hindered access to sunny parts and front gate barely hanging upright. I will not be reserving this property a third time.

Great place for a vaca w/Fido. Fenced yard, room to romp, cautious wildlife for some excitement (raccoon stayed in trees but dog had a blast watching it). Nice tub, cozy fireplace and comfy beds. Nice outdoor grill, a quick drive to Guerneville for supplies. Good stay!

Dirty floors and WiFi that didn’t work There were trash under the butchers block and we had to wash some plates and pots before using them. The WiFi didn’t have connectivity and we repeatedly texted the team and it never got fixed. We ended up having to spend 20% of our vacation at the Starbucks to get our work done! What a terrible experience.

Super quaint cottage in the redwoods. The cabin is smaller than I had imagined, but had everything you need! We loved the old world charm-felt like we were at grandpa's hunting cabin! Hot tub was perfect and pretty private. Kitchen well stocked. Really appreciated the record player and VHS tapes, took us back to simpler times. The cabin has a large yard perfect for dogs to roam and play catch. Highway noise was fairly loud and access to beach was further than described-needed to walk on highway for a block to reach the public river access, but once there was very happy with the sandy beach and swim spot. Would return in a heartbeat!

Nicely maintained and comfortable cabin with fenced yard nestled into old growth redwoods with spa, porch and bbq. No river access but about one mile to Johnson’s beach and a short drive to public beach in Monte Rio. It even has a horseshoe pit! Our King Charles spaniel felt right at home. Major items were clean but railings on porch had a heavy layer of dust and there were open chip containers under the dresser, which of course our pup found. :) Overall very quiet and relaxing stay. Will definitely consider returning.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin has vintage charm and the hot tub under the redwoods is amazing. It was quiet and clean, a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Coffee and grilling dinner on the deck, followed by a dip in the hot tub made for a very nice getaway.

Cabin is a vintage property that reminds me of the places I stayed at during the '60s and '70s. Cabin was comfortable with all the modern conveniences. Shady front porch and sunny back deck next to hot tub. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown Guerneville and 1/2 hour away from Occidental and Jenner. Internet was inconsistent depending upon where on the property you were located. Many of the dishes, pots and pans , and chairs needed a good cleaning from lack of use. I would return to property in the future.
