Summary:

Ocean views stretch across the horizon from this sun-filled coastal home. Soak in the hot tub as the sun dips below the Pacific. Step outside to a deck overlooking the ocean. Room for 4 in this 1-bedroom home. Local restaurants, river access, and Gualala Point Regional Park are a short drive away. Art galleries, river trails, and the wild Pacific are all within reach. At low tide, the rock shelves reveal a hidden world of anemones, crabs, and starfish.

The Space:

This cozy cove cottage provides you with everything you need to feel right at home during your Gualala getaway.

A large deck and a fenced yard give you and your guests plenty of space to spread out and take in the striking views of the ocean and the rocky cliffs of the California Coast. Best of all, this home also includes a private outdoor hot tub where you can soak your worries away. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

KITCHEN & DINING

The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals during your stay. With seating for your group, mealtimes become part of the experience.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

Choose from 1 bedroom. Altogether, the home comfortably sleeps 2.

PROPERTY AMENITIES

-- 1 bedroom, 1 bath

-- Private hot tub

Guest Access:

The entire home is yours to enjoy -- make yourself at home from the moment you arrive. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival.

The Neighborhood:

Nestled where the Gualala River meets the Pacific, this small coastal town offers local dining, art galleries, and easy access to Gualala Point Regional Park. Kayak the river, explore tide pools, or hike the coastal bluffs -- all within minutes.

Getting Around:

From San Francisco, the drive is about 2.5 hours via Highway 101 to Highway 1. Fly into Santa Rosa's Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS), about 90 minutes east, and drive the coast from there. Having a car opens up the entire Mendonoma Coast.

Other Things to Note:

The fireplace in the photos has been removed, and we are working on updating the photos.

Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring wildflowers (April-June) blanket the coastal headlands and the banks of the Gualala River with vibrant color. Summer on the Mendonoma Coast (June-September) means warm days and the occasional morning fog that burns off by lunch.

Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

The view from this property is absolutely incredible—truly 10/10 and the highlight of our stay.Unfortunately, there were serious safety and maintenance concerns that significantly impacted our experience. My husband fell through a weakened section of the deck next to the hot tub, which is a major safety hazard and could easily result in serious injury. This issue should be addressed immediately.Additionally, the bathroom and kitchen are in need of updates. The shower handle kept falling off when we turned it on and the outdoor barbecue was a challenge to use as we had to lift propane tank up onto something to make a connection. These areas would benefit from maintenance and upgrades to ensure guest comfort and usability. With repairs and improvements, this property has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay, but guests should be aware of these concerns.

It was a pleasant treat to spend time so close to the ocean at a decent price. The place is cozy and very comfortable for a long weekend away. Very pleased and very grateful for the chance to enjoy this property. Thank You to the owners for allowing others to enjoy this piece of peace with nature.

Hello future Cove House enjoyers - my recent stay was so satisfying. The striking ocean view and the sound of the waves and the large sunny deck with a large clean hot tub makes it the perfect get away. Two out of two thumbs up.

Pop in the entry code and open the door to a wall of newly cleaned windows that display a view that never fails to take my breath away. That view can't be beat - which is why we keep returning to Cove House. Since the afternoons were toasty, we opened the doors to let in the sound and smell of the ocean. Perfect.

Unfortunately Vacasa confirmed a change in my reservation in writing and then didn't honor their confirmation and it wound up costing an extra 1000! Beware when dealing with them.

This little place was perfect for us. The furnishings were clean and comfortable, hot tub with view of water was super! …..And it was already heated when we arrived. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment for cooking and all necessary utensils. A nice little yard and deck. Close to highway, but no highway noise! The only irritation/confusion was the VRBO & Vacasa relationship. Why two businesses we had to respind to. That is not very personalised

The house was very nice. The view was amazing. Kitchen had everything needed to cook for two.Minor noise from California 1, but not much.Hot tub was wonderful.Be aware, though, that the house DOES NOT have a working wood stove, despite the title and listing information for the property. This was something of a disappointment for us.
