This rating is primarily due to location. I feel badly because I should have done my homework on the location. It was too far for our interests. Convenient to lovely Waimea and some resorts, but not to Kona or other parts of the island that my family preferred. It was our first time on the Big Island, so I learned from this trip. The living space was comfortable, bedrooms were rustic and quirky (no closets, random tools, limited nightstands). Weirdly, the coffeemaker made only 3 mugs. I think most people expect more capacity. The main bedroom had a large gap in the wall that allowed light from the living room to illuminate the room. I mis-interpreted a hot tub as something on the deck or outside that the family could enjoy. I think that the description really meant the jetted bathtub in the ensuite bath. Also showering was challenging without shower walls. We needed more bathrooms for 3 couples. A powder room addition would have really helped. The property does have lot's of privacy, great views and we enjoyed the sunsets and watching the herd of cattle that grazed nearby. The property owner's home is next door, and the property owner was great, very responsive.

Great views - pretty much 360 degrees. We had everything we needed for our trip of exploring the western half of Hawaii island. A 10 minute drive down to the ocean resorts and a 10 minute drive up the mountain to Waimea/Kamuela. Great sunsets!!

Secluded, quiet, and scenic but somehow still minutes from Waimea and some of the best swimming beaches I’ve ever been to. The house is very nice and spacious, great for a family who doesn’t want a resort experience, and Yumi is a great host.

House was as pictured. Check in was easy. Yumi was responsive to our questions. Views are spectacular, just the place to come back to after a day at the beach. Very quiet, except for the morning roosters, which were really not bad. House is 7 miles from Kamuela, so a car is necessary.

The place is amazing with 360 degrees of beautiful views of the mountains and the ocean. Beautiful to watch sunsets on the deck. It is also very close to all the best beaches. We loved it.

Perfect location for exploring the north of the Big island. 10 minutes to Hapuna beach and 10 mins to Waimea. Kitchen is updated and modern, as are two smaller bedrooms. Great views from the deck of the ocean and the whole coast, sunsets are amazing. Master bedroom could use a little love, double bed was on just on the floor, no frame. The winds picked up the second half of the week and man can they blow! They were quite loud and the little house swayed with the big gusts, not sure how common it is that it gets that windy, may have just been weird weather. Waimea has some great restaurants, and good to-go food from the grocery store. Even when it is raining in Waimea, it was usually sunny at the house, which lead to some nice rainbows. Yumi was a great host, very responsive and tended to our needs all week.

Rural setting on dry side of Waimea - as described! But no words or even pictures could recreate the view for this review. A spotlessly clean home. Our host, Yumi, was a clear + timely + thoughtful communicator both before and during our visit . She made us feel very welcome - even left the lights on for our late arrival and a dozen of her hens' eggs. She readily addressed any questions we had. Easy access to favorite beaches and Waimea. Well-organized kitchen for those who love to cook + eat while on vacation like we do. Mahalo, Yumi.

Our team stayed at Casa Tiffany for a recent work trip, and it was fantastic. The house was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay, including a laundry machine. The house's unique location was great as well. We really loved watching the sunset each night from the deck (and the stars out there are amazing, too!). Yumi was an excellent host and very responsive to our questions. Overall, it was wonderful and hope to return sometime soon!
