Tired of computers, e-mail, 24 hour news and over-scheduling Ready to un-plug We invite you to unwind at the Great Escape in Grand Marias, Michigan. This nicely renovated cottage, located on beautiful Lake Superior, will provide the ultimate retreat from your busy life. It is an ideal vacation spot for families with children or couples who enjoy peace and quiet and exploring the great outdoors.

With over 100 feet of private frontage, the white sandy beach with views of Pictured Rocks' Grand Sable Dunes is one of the cottage's greatest features. The cottage is situated on a deep lot on Coast Guard Point, but the approximate 125 yard walk to the beach on the dune path is well worth it! Whether you enjoy curling up with a good book, building elaborate sand castles, combing the beach for agates, flying kites, fishing off the break wall, swimming in crystal clear fresh water, paddle boarding or just soaking up the sun, this quiet, secluded beach offers it all.

What could be better than ending your day making s'mores by a campfire on the beach, while watching an incredible sunset Perhaps being the first one up and enjoying your coffee on the beach, pondering the wonders of life! We have no doubt you will leave Grand Marais refreshed, energized and ready to tackle what lies ahead, until your next Great Escape.

Accommodations include 2 bedrooms, large sleeping loft with 2 twin beds and 1 bathroom; full kitchen with 20 inch electric range and full sized refrigerator and large farm table that easily seats eight; living and family room with rustic wooden furniture, Tivoli radio with iPOD nano connection. Cottage has tongue and groove pine paneling with a cathedral ceiling in the main living area. There is a large front deck with 4 Adirondack chairs. Driveway allows parking for several vehicles. External electrical outlet is available for an RV.

Seasonal property available May 1 thru November 1 only.

WOW!Outside is a beautiful sandy walk to the gorgeous shore of Lake Superior. Perfect for Kite flying, wonderfully brisk swims, rock hunting, the view is amazing!!! Fire pit halfway to Superior in a perfect little depression between the dunes. We ran out of Marshmallows and had to restock!!Inside are wonderful clean beds, great little bathroom with a super cool rock floor shower. Perfect kitchen for small or larger meals. We fed five adults around a wonderful table with perfect bench seating. Loved all the books and the decor in the Great Escape! We are ready to book again for next year. Thank you SO MUCH for opening your home to us for a week!

We had a wonderful time at this cozy beachside cabin. It was the perfect quiet spot for a relaxing getaway, and being right on the water made it extra special. We enjoyed playing in the waves and searching for interesting rocks along the shore—finding some yooperlites was a real highlight! If you’re looking for a peaceful place to unwind by the beach, this cabin is a great choice.

Great get away to rewind and relax. Wife worked on a puzzle while I polished rocks. Cell service was OK for us. Little ways to walk to beach, so plan your trip. Just a great location.

Overall we loved our stay at the cabin. Having 6 people in the cabin made the single bathroom tough at times, but we made it work. I wish the water was a little closer as my mother has a hard time walking and couldn’t use the path to the beach, but t was beautiful. The children loved the loft and the kitchen was put to use to make breakfast every morning. Getting re-used to no TV and wi-fi was interesting at times, but we made it work and enjoyed spending time with each other like we did back before we had wi-fi and a TV everywhere. Minor issue was at night what appeared to be 100+ gnats on the bathroom ceiling (May have been due to having bathroom window opened slightly to allow steam from showers out, and the bathroom floor got wet twice which appeared to be from moisture coming from under the sink. Those may want to be looked into, but besides that we would highly recommend for anyone who wants to “unplug” and enjoy all Grand Marais has to offer! :)

Nice house, lots of games and books to use. The house is about 150 yards from the water. Also, I didn't notice on the listing, but there is no TV. Cell service is spotty at times. Overall, great weekend to disconnect and reconnect.

We had a chilly, rainy 2 days in Grand Marais, but the cottage was great. Comfortable, warm, clean. It had everything we needed and the location perfect - as close to Lake Superior as you want to be! We enjoyed our time there.

Great location, the beach was beautiful, and the cottage couldn't have been more perfect! We enjoyed 2 warm spring days exploring the area and will definitely be back!
