Great Escape- Lakefront Peninsula Lot, Amazing Outdoor Spaces, Gentle Slope!

We had an amazing stay at the Great Escape house on Lake Gaston! The home was incredibly clean, spacious, and fully stocked with everything we needed. The peninsula location offers beautiful views and easy lake access, which made the whole experience even more special.We loved being able to fish right from the shore and dock our boat with ease. The provided kayaks and water equipment were a huge bonus, and having firewood ready for the firepit made our evenings extra relaxing.Overall, this was a peaceful, well-equipped getaway—we’d absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

The house and the views were breathtaking!

We had the greatest weekend at the Great Escape. The property had everything we needed; we especially loved the fire pit, porch swing, water toys, and screened-in porch. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we greatly appreciated the two fridges. The hosts were quick to respond and booking was easy and painless. We spent a lot of time outside on the dock and loved that we could jump off the platform! Everyone enjoyed kayaking and paddleboarding. The only negative is that we couldn't stay longer! We hope to make it an annual trip and are looking forward to next year!!!!

The property was greatly, my only complaint the maid was still there cleaning after 4:00 and the bathroom didn’t have enough toilet paper.

We love staying at the Great Escape. We have been holding a family reunion there for the past couple of years and really appreciate everything that Teresa and Pete do to make it such a wonderful experience. They are so accomodating and gracious.The house is beautiful, spacious, and equipped with everything that you could need/want. Everyone enjoyed the water and being able to use the kayaks and paddle boards. The flowers and gardens are absolutely stunning, and I loved sitting on the screened in porch and listening to the birds and the sounds of the family playing in the water.Thank you for sharing your house with us...we would love to come back again next year.

My family and I spent a week at the Great Escape and enjoyed every minute! The house and the property are enough to want to come back again. Pete & Teresa were great to deal with and very communicative. I would highly recommend renting their home :)

The Great Escape is Amazing!! Pete and Teresa are the best hosts. Everything you would they have thought of. This is our happy place!!

This lake house was best we stayed in all 15 years. They have so many kitchen appliances, tools a large dining table. All rooms are thoughtfully put together. This house is the house of all houses surrounded by beautiful water to bring your family and make some best 1st’s memories.

This is our sixth year staying at The Great Escape. This property is perfect for our family as we continue to make memories together. Teresa and Pete are wonderful hosts and always make sure we are happy with our stay. The house is fully stocked with everything we need and more!!

We had our smallest group in years! It did not diminish our fun and relaxation! As usual, the home was in great condition. The 2 refrigerators and ice maker make life so much easier. Fewer trips to the grocery or Dollar store! The owners have a large garden and they encourage the guests to use the ripe produce! The dock is in great condition. Although parts of NC had terrible weather, ours held out until after dinner so there was no disruption of water fun!

We were so happy to be back at The Great Escape this year!! This vacation has become an annual family tradition, and the property is perfect for our large and multi-generation family group. The home is well appointed, the slope and size of the lot makes it easily navigable, and the dock provides lots of fun for the.kids!We did experience an unavoidable issue with the upstairs AC unit during our stay, and the owners responded so quickly to ensure the issue was fully repaired within 24 hours.We can't wait to come back next year!!

This house was perfect for our 2 families. It had everything we needed with plenty of room for everyone to have their privacy. The kitchen was well-equipped with all that you would ever need. The property was beautiful and private in a great location. Pete and Teresa were very responsive and always available if needed. We would love to stay at their home again.

The property was very spacious for a large family with lots of amenities for everyone, so we were able to spread out and have smaller more intimate gatherings throughout the week. Our family loved the house and all that it offered and Pete and Teresa were very friendly and accommodating. Our family would love to stay again!

I believe it is our 4th time staying at this property and have done full weeks in the past. Great location and privacy. Owners are VERY responsive and always making sure that you are having a Great time and if you need anything.

We loved this house and location! We had plenty of space for our family -13 of us. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We fished, kayaked, swam... the kids (and adults!) had fun jumping from the two story dock. The location provided tons of places to sit and relax. The ice cream store was less than 10 minutes away in case you wanted to venture out. The hosts we helpful and thoughtful!

Our family rented this home for the Christmas holiday, and it was perfect! The house is huge, offering plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The kitchen was incredibly well-equipped—everything we needed (and more) was right at our fingertips. The lake views were stunning, especially from the canoe, which made for a peaceful and memorable experience. The owners were fantastic—communication was excellent, and any issues we encountered were quickly addressed. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend this home!

We have been staying at the Great Escape every other year for three Thanksgivings. Fantastic place for extended family to gather for a holiday and family time. Plenty of space for cooking all the family favorites. Pete and Teresa are great hosts. Highly recommend.

Spent 4 nights with adult children and 5 grandsons aged 2 and under. Plenty of space for all. Of course had to keep close eye on grandsons when close to water, but great floats, pedal boat, kayaks, canoe. Built a fire most nights. Good time together.

Teresa and Pete were wonderful to work with, and I can't say enough about their awesome house. The house is beautiful, very well maintained, and stocked with every item that you could need. The layout of the kitchen/dining area/den is perfect. I especially loved the screen porch with the nearby bird feeders. The whole family loved being in the water, and reading/sunning on the dock. Thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful home.

What an amazing week at the Great Escape! This was our second time at this beautiful property and we highly recommend it. The owners are quick to reply and answer any and all questions. Check in is easy and the amenities are outstanding down to the spices in the kitchen.

House was perfect. Well stocked with everything (pot, pans, tools, supplies, etc). Very enjoyable. This was our 3rd year and we should come back next year.

The house, grounds, and dock are all in great condition. They suit our annual vacation. The house and amenities make our stay so comfortable. The hosts are responsive to any questions, comments, or thoughts about the stay. The hosts have listened to their renters and implemented many of the great suggestions to make everyone's stay better. We have been staying at this property for close to 10 years! There are 4 families and the 5th family is one of the kids who has grown up coming on the lake vacation!
