From the moment you arrive on the well treed property you feel like you’re in a little bit of paradise. The back of the property leads down to the river flowing by and the sound of the water rushing over the rocks gives a very pleasant place to relax next to the fire pit. The well appointed bungalow is wonderfully appointed with a fishing and outdoor theme and it’s so comfortable and inviting. Makes you just want to move in. Lori and Todd we’re so easy to contact by phone or text just to give a heads up of our arrival and departure. Everything could not have gone smoother or better. I couldn’t recommend this place anymore than to say I would gladly go back there every weekend! Dr. Rick
It was the wife, me, and grandson (6yrs old). Since no bed is large enough to two adults and a scared of the dark 6 y/o, I slept comfortably on the hide a bed couch (6ft, 250lbs). The wife says the primary bed is very comfortable. We just love this place, not too large, not too small. There are fishing rods and tackle to go out to the river and try to catch the numerous fish. The fish won this time but, we will be back. I don't have a single derogatory thing to say about this place or the host Lori and Todd. As a matter of fact, we had a tire issue and they went out of their way to help us which we are very grateful. We will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is small but has everything that we needed. The back porch overlooking the river is the shining star of this little gem. It's the perfect place to go to get away from it all and relax. Our hosts were very nice and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again.
It was quiet, serene, scenery was beautiful. Those four days were not enough. We especially enjoyed the screen in porch. We would consider renting the cottage again, it is a gem, tucked in the forest.
Lori and Todd were fantastic hosts! The house was super clean, the amenities were better than described, and this was the perfect bungalow for a weekend getaway. We will definitely look to stay here in the future.
My husband and I wanted to get away to relax. Lori and Todd went above and beyond...gave us so much info on places to go. Had several storms and river was high, but Todd gave my husband a lot of info on fishing spots nearby. House is perfect and the large screened porch was perfect! We would highly recommend and plan to visit again!
Beautiful property and perfect little house with large and very comfortable screened in porch for taking in the river view if you’re not sitting around the fire pit. Convenient location to whatever your wanting to do. The host provides five star service.
This was the perfect spot to spend my birthday weekend with my husband. The cabin was beautiful and cozy. The river was peaceful. Great property and amazing hosts!
We enjoyed the view and watching the birds come by the bird feeder each day. We got some much needed rest and relaxation.
We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and loved sitting by the fire listening to the river babble away! The back porch/deck is the place to be as well. It's close to nearby eateries, breweries/wineries and just what we needed to get away from it all. Owners were super nice and very responsive to questions!
We enjoyed the time we spent at your property. The screened-in porch was my favorite place. I loved listening to the river and God's nature as I sat out there. I even took a nap on the porch on Sunday! The place was very clean and perfect for my husband and I. Thank you, Lori and Todd, for sharing your property with us. God bless you both!
Our family stayed here for a few days to take a break and just relax. The house is located quite a ways off the main road, but it's worth the drive once you get there. The house is very quiet and peaceful, and the back porch is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, eat dinner, or play games. I truly enjoyed my morning coffee on the porch as I listened to the sounds of nature. We went tubing with James River Runners, which is about an hour away and explored Appomattox Court House, which is about 30 minutes away. The rest of the time we just relaxed at the house and played games or relaxed. The house is clean and some drinks/snacks are provided. There are also several games and movies available. We had a great time and highly recommend this property.
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend getaway for our 1 year wedding anniversary! The house was beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Would definitely go back for some more r&r
We had a wonderful stay. We were looking for somewhere quite to unplug and the bungalow was just that.
Very cosy, great front porch. We spent most of our time on the front porch watching the water and geese.
Lori is indeed a Premier Host. Enjoyed the quiet and visited local historical sites and, of course, a winery.
This property is just as inviting as it appears in the pictures. The cabin space is limited and a bit tight, but the screened in porch greatly expands it, and gives plenty of room to move around overall. The expanse of yard from the screened porch down to the water is also very spacious. Sitting on the porch was our favorite part, helping us to relax and enjoy the nature around us. All necessary provisions were provided in each room, along with many nice extras such as a welcome basket full of snacks, drinks in the refrigerators, and toiletries in the bathroom. The location was a bit farther off the main roads than we expected, but perfect for a secluded getaway. We enjoyed our stay immensely! The hosts were very helpful for our planning purposes and were quick to answer any questions we had. They continued to offer assistance as needed during our stay as well. We felt very welcome & taken care of.
