Lovely bungalow garden house on private estate. Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful setting within the garden of the main house. Amazing views to Souda Bay, the White Mountains, Apokoronas, and the open sea.

The Garden House includes 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bathtub/shower, a living room with open kitchen, and a separate bathroom with WC and washing machine. TV with chrome cast (no channels).

There is a spacious terrace / outdoor living area including a dining area, a BBQ, a sofa and hammock, and an outdoor shower. The bungalow and its terrace is completely private (not visible to the estate’s other residents).

High quality bed linen and towels, duvets and pillows. Professional cleaning.

Prices quoted on this listing refer to 2 guests. An additional 2 guests can be accommodated on the sofa bed at a supplement. Rates include electricity and end cleaning.

Access to the bungalow is by a private driveway leading from the property’s gated entrance. Parking for 1 car outside the property.

Located on the Akrotiri peninsula of Chania, on the outskirts of the village of Sternes. The lovely beaches of Loutraki and Marathi are only a short drive away, as is the quaint village of Sternes.

Preferred guests are couples or families wishing to enjoy peace and quiet, respectful of the estate’s owners’ proximity. Maximum occupancy is 4, with the possibility for a cot for child up to the age of 2. Music/noise and conversation generated from the guests or equipment that they are using in and around the bungalow should be kept to a respectable level in consideration of the owners and must be reduced to a minimum after 9 pm.

Location:
The pretty village of Sternes is located south of Chania International Airport (no air traffic above). The village includes 3 places to dine, a gyro/souvlaki café, a tavern, and a Kafenion (local café). There are 2 minimarkets providing basic groceries, fruit and vegetables, a bakery, and a pharmacy.

Approx. 3 km below Sternes are the sandy beaches of Loutraki and Marathi. Both have shallow, crystal-clear waters, are well protected from the northerly winds of July and August, and are favorites among both tourists and locals alike. There are 3 places to eat in Loutraki; a beach café, a grill-taverna, and another lunch tavern. Marathi has a slightly larger selection of restaurants, one of them, Patrelantonis, considered to be one of the best restaurants in Chania. Equally good but with fewer selections on its menu is the beach fish-café of Rokakis. Fishermen in the family assure fresh fish and seafood on a daily basis.

    We cannot say enough positive things about the gardenia garden house. It was a wonderful location to explore the beaches and hiking spots around Chania, and experience the lovely culture of the people of Sternes. It is within 10 minutes of the airport but feels a world away. Comfortable furnishings surrounded by lemon and olive trees,herbs to cook with in its well equipped kitchen all made it a comfortable home for us. Hoping to return to this lovely spot!

    Everything was perfect. Alexandra welcomes us very well, the place is really beautiful : the view is incredible, from morning to evening. It's a very quiet place, and the house is really nice. Very wel furnished, nothing is missing. And we appreciate a lot the homemade orange marmalade, my favorite ! We'll probably stay here again if we have the chance

    Beautiful apartment and terrace, beautiful gardens, with incredible views across Souda Bay towards the mountain. Comfortably furnished, well equipped and nice welcome pack in the kitchen. It’s very quiet and isolated but within easy reach of everything we needed. We’re returning home fully recharged and know it’s a place we’d like to return to time and again. The host is extremely welcoming and hospitable, provided a detailed information pack and maintained excellent contact

    Gardenia Garden House was easy to find, and we had several advance communications with the cordial owner, who met us at the gate of the property, which contained several buildings. The owner gave us a tour of the property and also pointed out that the vegetable garden and all the herbs were available for guests. This was definitely one of the most welcome amenities. The location, grounds, villa interior all far exceeded our expectations, and we were completely delighted with everything. Frankly, it was only after two or three days that we even noticed there was no TV. The entire villa was spotless and well equipped, even had a washer (we did not use), drying rack, beach lounges, even beach towels. We particularly loved all the varieties of lavender, rosemary, purslane plus the grape and other tomatoes which were plentiful, eggplants and a seemingly endless variety of edibles. Inside, the bed was quite comfortable, there was a huge amount of storage space for suitcases and clothing, shoes, etc. Bathroom was large and bright and spotless. The kitchen wonderfully equipped, although we never cooked there, for making Greek salads from local green grocer's produce supplemented by the wonderful garden's many offerings, we ate well and at home some nights with luscious salads. We had an ideal work location with an amazing view of the Bay of Souda. We were able to watch the moon come up every night both from inside the villa and the gorgeous patio, replete with glider, sofa, table and pillows. I cannot imagine anything more that could have further enhanced our stay and would very highly recommend Gardenia Harden House as a high value and strategically located property offering everything guests could possibly require.

    Our stay at Alexandras place met all of our expectations. The house has everything you need, the terrace is perfect to relax and just enjoy the view. It also quite wind protected which is very good on windy days. Location is very good to explore Chania and all of West Crete. Communication was very smooth and on spot, Elsa welcomed us warmly and gave us good hints. Highly recommended!

    We had a wonderful time staying here. The accommodation is exactly as described, its very clean, comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need if you should decide to cook. The view is even better than described! Looking out over the bay is spectacular and changes all the time depending on the time of day. Really lovely. Alexandra is an excellent host and provided a wealth of information for us. All restaurant recommendations were excellent. Marathi Beach less than 5 minutes away was lovely, with several nice tavernas. The beach is well maintained and the water is beautiful. The accommodation is a short drive from Chania so very well positioned. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and hope to return next year. Would also recommend a trip to the Botanical Gardens only 45 minutes away and well worth it.

    A wonderful property well equipped and spotlessly clean The view was wonderful unfortunately we had to leave early for personal reasons but really did not want to leave peaceful tranquil and the photographs do not do it justice . You definitely need a car but lots of lovely beaches within driving distance .highly recommended ?
