Garden Cottage (By the Sea)

This property was much nicer in person than the pictures. It was exceptionally clean, kudos to the housekeeping staff. We even looked under the beds and furniture because we lost a dog ball and there was no dust anywhere. We loved the fenced yard for the dogs, and the landscaping was beautiful. There was even a basket of toys for the dogs. Maybe somebody will find the balls we lost, lol.We were a little hesitant about the location because it is right on the main highway, but with the landscape and sitting up higher on the hill we did not hear traffic noise, and we didn’t see anything but the beautiful view of the ocean. And of course all of the beautiful flowers on the property!Everything in this property appears to be brand new or very well maintained. Our only complaint would be the lack of channels for the cable TV service. We had a couple of really big storms that made us to stay indoors during the day. There was no streaming service available, no cable networks available, just the main networks(ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox) and PBS. Not that that was a bad thing, we downloaded some library books and read on the stormy days. I did look and adding streaming services to the existing cable package that this property has is free, and so many people now have their own accounts, it was just very unusual. This is the first property I’ve stayed at that didn’t have a smart TV with the ability to use our own streaming Account. No complaints, I would definitely stay there again.

What a delightful cottage. Pet friendly and the place was very clean. Great kitchen with all the items you need. This is my second time to stay there and it was another great get away. Communication was great. I highly recommend staying at the Garden Cottage.

My criteria was to find a fully fenced backyard for my dog and a clean unit. I really found both criteria and so much more with this cottage. I thought it was perfect for my 3-night stay. Loved how clean it was and did not smell the strong chemical odor most pet friendly rentals have. The bedding and towels were high quality, with kitchen ware having everything I needed to make my meals, including a coffee bean grinder. Both bedrooms are spacious as well as the living and dining/kitchen areas. A person could easily stay here for a couple weeks and be happy with the space. It is close to the Hwy, but the house is well insulated so I did not hear traffic. The ocean view is far away, and only really seen from the dining area. I was totally fine with the view. Each day I had my ocean views with my dog on the beach. I want to stay here again!

Property was well equipped, clean, private and decorated tastefully. We only used one bedroom and bed was not very comfortable. TV package provided limited channels and surprisingly no ability to use Netflix. Dog barking constantly for hours every day of our stay in adjacent yard.

Great location, nice decks and views, nice fenced in back yard for our 2 dogs.

Driveway was a bit hard to see but that actually added to the charm of the house. Comfy bed to rest after full days exploring the coast...we will definitely be back

Very clean, loved the smell of all the flowers! Great layout, liked walking to near-by beach and to town.

Beautiful grounds, easy location, worked well for our family. It’s just an older place and smells a bit musty. Regarding the reservation, I’m not sure why Ocean Odyssey needs my credit card information twice, and if I miss the second payment my reservation gets canceled. Why not just bill me once please?

The Garden Cottage is spacious, comfortable, clean and thoughtfully stocked. The view of the surf is nice from the front deck and dining area, and it is walkable to town, the beach, and local trails. It has everything needed for cooking meals, beds very comfortable and fantastic view of the ocean from the dining room table. We would love to come back in warmer weather to sit on the front porch and watch the waves. The only thing I would suggest is a small step stool to retrieve things from the upper cupboards.

We felt instantly at home. Everything we needed to be comfortable was there. It was perfect for our dog Bailey! There was even a dog bed in the garage. Wi-Fi wasn't very good but even that was a bonus. We played games and watched some old classic movies in the evening and took some amazing walks on the beach.

The property was fine but the cleaning folks left the broom out and other things out of place. Ice trays in the sink. There’s a sign that says don’t put the knives in the dishwasher but you can’t even cut cheese with those knives they are so worn out. The baking soda box expired in 2021 according to the penciled in date. So why bother? I can’t get the dishwasher to start to save my life. I probably would not sta here again.

My 2 friends and I are all over 60, in pretty good health. There are two short stairways to manuever up with luggage, which was somewhat difficult. The house is fabulously furnished, with a well-appointed kitchen. Overall, a wonderful vacation rental in lovely Yahats!

My tall husband slept on one of the twin beds & I slept on queen bed. I removed the beautiful quilts & I bring my own blankets & pillows. I have bad allergies. We are use to a CA King bed. We didn’t hear the traffic from Hwy 101 in the bedrms. When we opened the front windows to cool off the house we could hear 101. We didn’t turn on the wall AC unit. The livingroom had a recliner chair which my husband used & I relaxed on the sofa. The TV doesn’t work like at a hotel. There’s no channels at all. My husband hooked up our iPad to TV, he had the cables to plug in & used the Netflix & Hulu apps, the TV turned into a large Monitor. The kitchen is well stocked, more than I thought it would be, & I used the crockpot a lot. I bought foil tin 9x13 pans. I didn’t see any glass casserole dishes. We mostly ate our food in the cottage. We both loved to cook. Enjoyed getting fresh seafood from fishmongers & cooking it. The bathroom is fine & Dan finally figured out turning on the shower head. Very strong pressure & my husband liked the massage mode. I prefer a hand held shower head. I am slightly disabled & steps are hard for me. Dan helped me up & down the steps. We have a very long wide Ram truck. So with the hill & narrow drive was very tricky parking for us. The truck has cameras & he relied on them to park sideways up by garage to let me out because I could not do the concrete steps. Then he would repark backing into narrow front of the house drive. A regular smaller car/suv wouldn’t have that difficult time. Thankyou Katy at Ocean Odyssey coming to our rescue w/ jumper cables!! Mondays are garbage days & he put out the cans twice. We had beautiful weather! One rainy day & 2 foggy days. We explored from Newport down to Bandon! Loved all the sites. We love Yachats! Great location! Must have fish at Luna&

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the sandy beach on that side of town while only a short distance to the wonderful rocky outcrops of Yachats.The cottage was very comfortable with lovely was especially well-equipped for cooking.

Great little place just outside of town within walking distance to the ocean. Little bit longer of a walk into town but still a good location. House and amenities are in good shape and working order. We will definitely look for this property on our return visits.

Initially surprised to be staying on East side of 101 but turned out to be a beautiful short walk to the beach and town. Great comfortable and spacious home for us and small dogs. We had such a great time! Thank you for hosting us
