Galena Shores

We most enjoyed sitting in the hot tub watching the barges float by. The local museum and planetarium provided an interesting way to spend an afternoon. The kitchen was ample size for the two of us. We enjoyed cooking during our stay. I would suggest a mixing bowl and a few basic spices would make a nice addition to the kitchen. Overall a great place to get away for an extended weekend with ample things to do in the area.

Awesome property with beautiful water views

Our host exceeded our expectations at every opportunity. Pillows, snacks and eclectic decoration... everything was wonderful. We didn't bring our family pet, but there were special touches that would have made a pet's stay just as satisfying. The hot tub was clean and had a wonderful view of the river from a raised fully finished deck. We would have stayed longer, and would definitely try to reserve this property again if we come back through Peoria. Thank you!

Great location with great views. Close to Peoria Heights and short drive to the couple of golf courses we visited over the weekend.

Beautiful views and place!

We enjoyed our stay at this property while we visited our son at Bradley University. The host is very responsive and helpful. The view is very nice and we wished it had been warmer so we could enjoy the deck and patio! There are nice touches like snacks and coffee pods available as well as shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. We enjoyed looking at the artwork.Things to consider if you book this property:-there is a full flight of stairs to the main level and lots of throw rugs (mentioned for people with mobility impairments)-the second bed is in the lower level and has a enclosed area/screen for privacy, but not a separate room.-both sleeping areas do not have shades on the windows and get morning sun. None of these things bothered our group, but I mention them in case they may help someone else.

We love this house as it’s our second time staying. It’s so cozy and relaxing with a well maintained clean house and hot tub. The pet friendly part is also a plus for us. So nice to extend our visits to see family in the area and stay an extra couple days in this house for some quiet relaxing time. The energy in this house is so peaceful.and looking at the stars at night in a hot tub is a must! Kim basically supplies you with whatever you may need and some extra goodies! You can tell she really takes pride in being a good host and very responsive and attentive. Love everything about this property and hope to come back soon.

The place was very clean, a lot of really neat artwork and lighting. Upstairs family room, kitchen, deck and bedroom were great. Great views of the river. Listing says “2 bedrooms” , that’s not correct. My sister in law only stayed 1 night due to the lack of privacy.” 2nd bedroom” is in the basement and 2 feet from the ping pong table. No dressers or privacy door to be a true bedroom, just a folding panel. Nice place but inaccurate description. Felt presser to give a 5 star rating since checkout instructions said give me a 5 star review and I’ll give you one too. Thats not how it works. Again, nice place, very clean, great river views but it’s not a true 2 bedroom place.

Beautiful property right on the water and close to many attractions. Dining was a short drive and home had many amenities that made it just perfect.

Stay was nice.

My family of 4 and the puppies absolutely enjoyed the Labor Day weekend. The lake is literally 15-20 feet from the back of the house. The decor of the house is certainly bordering on maximalism, but really nothing feels out of place or excess. This is probably the first vacation where we enjoyed all of the available entertainment opportunities that were provided. We kayaked and strolled the beach, enjoyed the hotd-tub and fireplace at night. We will definitely look forward to coming back again if things work out that way.

Disc golf

This location is even better in person! We were looking for a relaxing stay while visiting my family and couldnt have chosen better. The entire house felt beautifully curiated and comfortable plus it was so much fun! We got to watch firework shows going across the entire river and enjoyed fishing and playing ping pong to pass the time. Cant wait to stay again!

This was a 2 night stay for my husband, myself, and our dog while our kids were out of town. We were looking for a relaxing trip along the water driving distance for us. This was a great find. They had kayaks, a paddle boat, a hot tub, and 2 levels of decks for enjoying the outside. The house was clean with a nice kitchen. They provided things like hand soaps, shampoo/conditioner, dishwasher tabs, dish soap, k cups, toilet paper and paper towels. Which I forget about often with rentals. All these things were very nice thoughtful touches! We found it extremely nice that we could bring our dog along too. We spent most of the time relaxing at the property, but did enjoy dinner out in the Peoria Heights area one night.

The property was very clean and well kept. Was just small and somewhat crowded. It’s very close to road tracks and trains came through at 4:30 in the morning.
