The house has bare minimum kitchen stuff, the furnitures were old and dirty, the noise from the road didn’t let us rest well any time day or night, the French door was broken and one of the outside chair was too. I will not recommend this house and we will not return. Also public beach access didn’t have doggy collection bins nor plastic to collect poop, so most of the dog owners left poop on the beach, city should look into it.

Place was definitely clean when we got there. Cheap compared to other properties. Allowed dogs. Conveniently located across from the beach. Old, neglected, patched up. Furniture look like someone collected them randomly from thrift store, décor without any sense of coherence, patches of drywall ceiling, stained callings from moisture damage, probably leaking roof. Place just screams take care of me and I can be a gem, unfortunately looks like the company’s economics don’t see it that way. I enjoyed staying on Topsail because I have friends there and didn’t have to endure all this other than leaving my dogs and sleeping in it, I would never recommend this place to any of my friends because I would be ashamed of the crappy place this is. The only thing they get right is the fact the place was clean. So…. If you can overcome the negatives the convenience and clean state of it will do. It is definitely NOT 7 people property, 5 at best, 20 if you teenager and drunk and don’t care. They should be honest about it. Anyway, If I was desperate, maybe I would consider, but I am not and will be staying at better accommodation next year. I did enjoy the beach, the convenience, …… That’s about it.

We rented this property only because it is walking distance to our house. All cooking and congregating was at our house. This house lacked toilet paper and some basics of the property which is embarrassing. If the owner can’t afford simple necessities like this they should sell the property

My fiancé and I really enjoyed this property with our dog! You could see the ocean from the deck and hear it at night. It was very peaceful, and the location was super close to the grocery store to pick up supplies when needed! It was an easy 2 second walk across the street to the beach which was nice! Only thing we didn’t know about was the lack of sheets, we did not notice in the description that we had to bring some. There was also no toilet paper or paper towels so make sure to bring some with you! Otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay! We will be booking again.

It was nicer than we expected and the pictures don’t do the location justice. Close to downtown area and only less than 10 minutes from the south sides nicer dining. The beds are not comfortable though and the master bedroom is NOT a queen butter rather a full size bad.

“Fun in the sun” wasn’t an exaggeration. We had a blast!!! We hope to come back sooner rather than later! The dogs loved it and the walk across the street to the beach was practically just as good as a place right on the beach. You could see the water the from the couch and deck which was amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your home with us

Had a first and rare experience to Surf City with hurricane Florence approaching and forecast to make landfall near SC at the beginning of our trip. I called to alter the reservation to a later date but the reality co did not practice rescheduling. So we proceeded to pack and travel 468 miles for our two week stay. A long story short, we got a message for a mandatory evacuation on our second day of our stay. Travel ins Was included in our contrac but as of this post there has been no settlement. Will use HomeAway again.

Great home crappy realty company. First off I will say there’s no way 7 people could stay in this place. There’s certainly not enough electric outlets for 7. I would say comfortably it would sleep/live 4 Max. The accommodations were great overall. The realty company was not. Among other things, after less than 24 hours of arrival (we were only staying three nights), I got an email that a maintenance person would be coming by to change the air filter sometime during the week. We had just arrived. I called and indicated my displeasure, reinforcing that they easily could’ve change the air filter the day before we arrivedThe DVD player was broken and upon calling I was told that they would need to wait until the homeowner return their phone call to decide whether not to replace the DVD player with a Blu-ray player because that’s all they had. Note that the DVD player was ancient so clearly needed an upgrade. Note that the DVD player was agent so clearly needed an upgrade. After multiple hours of waiting and calling several times and maintenance guy came to install. He opened the box and seemed dumbfounded when there wasn’t an HDMI cable there. “Those things don’t come with HDMI cables so I told him.”

It was a good size for our family. Clean and well maintained. Quick walk to the beach, great location. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment. We have toddlers whose sleep is easily disturbed but location of house and location of bedrooms had the kids sleeping great on the trip. It was friendly to our family pooch which is a must. Plenty of space for the kids to move around for rainy times. 2 pieces of constructive feedback: 1) we have toddlers so baths are best. The tub was not conducive to bathing since the drain cover did not fit securely. It was fine showering but would float up during a bath and then drain/pipe sediment would wash back into bath water making their water dirty. Showering with 2 toddlers for a week was not ideal. 2) the vacuum was full of dirt; I am assuming from previous tenants. In order to clean up after ourselves, I had to spend 15-20 min cleaning the vacuum.

Dog hair on everything. The pipe in kitchen was broke underneath sink and when washing dishes it flooded over to fooor. They had a bucket underneath it. Sliding glass door had black junk all over the slider area. Very disappointed after seeing other reviews that gave high rating since we rented based on those reviews.
