Awesome location nestled between Lincoln and Littleton. 15 min drive to either city! Highly recommend!
It worked perfectly for us
This chalet was perfect for us. It was immaculately clean which is most important to me! Beds were very comfortable. We were mostly outside for our trip but the house had everything we needed for when we were there. We loved how quiet and remote it was. The location to echo lake was also very convenient! Carolyn was quick to respond to any questions I had & gave some great recommendations for places in the area. We would rent again!
Very clean. Beds were comfortable. Issue with the toilet when we arrived that the owner promptly had repaired. Great location for hiking adventures. Missed a microwave - guess I didn't read the property description carefully and we came expecting one. Title of property says one bathroom while description of property says two. There is only one that's functional, which was ok for us since we were only two. Main issue for us was the refrigerator - both the freezer and the fridge froze things solid. I turned the fridge temperature to as warm as possible, but no luck. Ended up throwing food away that needed to be cold but didn't tolerate being frozen. Basement with tv and ping pong table was incredibly damp when we arrived. There was a dehumidifier whose bucket was full and so not running. By the end of the week, after running the dehumidifier full time and emptying its bucket regularly, the basement humidity was reasonable. Amazing how much water that dehumidifier pulled out of the air.
This is one of the best VRBO’s that I have stayed in. Cute, rustic mountain cabin.
The location was great and the house was clean. We enjoyed our time. A ping pong table was listed, but it was not there. One time I messaged the property owner and they did not get back to me until I texted. The second bathroom toilet was not working. I had to purchase my own batteries for one of the TV remotes since no batteries were found at the house. Having to keep all of the trash inside the house for a week was stinky but we knew that ahead of time. There was no real view of the mountains from the property. The location to everything we were interested in was fantastic and we had a great trip.
Thank you for letting us rent your home. It was cozy and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and the set- up just right for a multi- generational trip. So relaxing!
We are frequent visitors to this beautiful spot in the woods near lakes (Echo Lake is almost walking distance) and hiking trails (Artists Bluff is almost walking distance). The huge table is great for having two families eat together.
The house is in a super cute neighborhood and was so clean when we arrived. We named it the moose house due to all the moose decor around. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials (seasonings, oil, etc) as well as plenty of utensils and pots/pans. There is no microwave which wasn’t an issue for us. We stayed in July so we wished there was a grill to use since it did get a bit hot in the house having the stove and oven on. Everything was spotless when we arrived and the beds were pretty comfy! There is no AC so it did get a bit warm but the mountain breeze at night and the fans provided helped cool it down a ton. The owners must have a dog and the only reason I mention it is because my husband is allergic and his eyes were itchy and he couldn’t stop sneezing the whole time so would have been good to know in advance so we could have brought allergy meds. His allergies were worse in the basement which is where the tv is located. Also wanted to note there was no baby gate and the stairs to the basement are completely open with no door. Our youngest isn’t super mobile yet so it wasn’t an issue but I could see it being one if she were moving around more. The location was great for easy access to all the areas big hiking spots. We took a day trip to Story Land and it was just under an hours drive. We did have a little bit of a hard time finding food nearby as everything is either in Lincoln or Littleton which are about a 20 min drive in opposite directions. If you plan properly this isn’t an issue. This was our first time staying on this side of the White Mountains so any hiccups we had were purely due to not knowing the area or what to expect. We would def stay again with more proper planning next time!
Overall we enjoyed our stay in this cute, nicely updated chalet. Close to Echo lake, Cannon Mountain, Lost Lake, and the Basin. Loved Polly's pancake house that was also closeby. Unfortunately downstairs toilet was not working when we arrived. Owners sent someone to take a look but it was not a quick fix, and they promptly offered reimbursement.
