Summary:

Watch pelicans glide over the waves from the comfort of your living room. Soak in the hot tub as the sun dips below the Pacific. A warm fire and ocean views anchor cozy evenings in. Room for 6 in this 3-bedroom home. Sea Ranch community pools, tennis courts, and the Lodge are nearby. Architecture, nature, and the Pacific -- Sea Ranch has it all. Watch the fog roll in from the deck as the coastline disappears and reappears like magic.

The Space:

Cross a wooden bridge over your own private creek, open a gate that leads through a lush and slightly wild garden, and step into this spacious and sunny Sea Ranch home. On the ocean side, a fabulous deck offers striking views. On the eastern side, the grassy fenced-in courtyard provides a great place for small children to play.

An eight-minute walk takes you to The Sea Ranch Lodge where you can buy a newspaper or have a drink or a meal. The Moonraker Recreation Center, also an 8-minute walk in the other direction, has tennis courts, a pool and a sauna. Black Point Beach, the largest beach at Sea Ranch, is an easy stroll. Miles of hiking trails along the bluff and up into the forest are just a step outside the door.

Secluded among trees but just a few minutes walk from Black Point Beach, The Sea Ranch Lodge, and the Moonraker Recreation Center, this well furnished home has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. Includes satellite television, DVD and VCR, CD/MP3/iPod player, Weber BBQ, and a washer/dryer. Also a hot tub on the deck in the private courtyard, a den area with TV, a well-equipped kitchen with gas stove, separate living room and dining room areas and hardwood floors.

This home features three bedrooms: a king, a queen, and a twin room with two beds in separate alcoves and a work desk. All six guests can find a private space in this house. Although recently remodeled, this home is one of the oldest on The Sea Ranch and has many historic features such as old wormwood walls, a driftwood door, and a stone fireplace made of local rocks. It is located in prestigious older Unit One where homes have larger lots and plenty of trees and undeveloped common land between them. Fox, deer and other wildlife are frequent visitors.

So bring that book you've been meaning to get to or just relax in the secluded garden. Make the Meyer home your Sea Ranch getaway.

Guest Access:

Step inside and settle in -- every room and amenity in this home is yours for your stay. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.

The Neighborhood:

This home is located in The Sea Ranch on the Sonoma Coast, a masterfully planned community known for its dramatic coastline, meadows, and forest trails. Nearby highlights include community heated pool and hot tub (South) (3-minute drive), Pebble Beach access trail (3-minute drive), Black Point headland trails (4-minute drive). Explore over Sea Ranch's 50 miles of trails, discover tidepools at low tide, swim in heated community pools, and end the day with dinner at The Sea Ranch Lodge. For provisions, Gualala (10 minutes south) has grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station. Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic drives south.

Getting Around:

Sea Ranch is about 2.5 hours north of San Francisco -- take Highway 101 to Highway 1 for one of California's most scenic coastal drives. The nearest airport is Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa, roughly 90 minutes east. A car is the way to go for exploring the area.

Other Things to Note:

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.

Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.

Keep your eyes on the horizon from December to April -- gray whales migrate just offshore, and this property has a front-row seat. Visit in spring and the meadows explode with wildflowers. April through June is peak bloom season along the Sonoma Coast. The warmest months are June through September. Expect coastal fog most mornings that gives way to sunny afternoons.

Cell service can be spotty along the coast. The home has WiFi for staying connected.

The house is a nice design with plenty of views of the surf at Black Beach. Verry nice fireplace with plenty of firewood. The kitchen was well equipped with a gas stove. The place was clean enough, but while readjusting small furniture there were cobwebs in corners and a discarded food wrapper. A spot on the window was a dead fly. This was a verry small, but unexpected distraction.

It was lovely. We never checked our phones over those 3 days and didn’t realize we were to strip the beds and start dishwasher. All dishes were washed. Sorry about the beds.

we had a very relaxing time. its an older home so some maintenance is needed and some TLC of the yard out front would do wonders, grass beginning to cover address number, but overall we liked the beachy rustic feel of the home. Wonderful views and closeness to the bluff walking trail.

We have stayed at this house a handful of times over the years and it is one of my favorites. It is one of the older sea ranch properties and features beautiful old wood and some lovely artwork. The bedrooms are in two wings. One wing has two bedrooms one with a king sized bed and the other a double. The other wing off the kitchen and sitting room has two twin beds and an office space. The living and dining room are large and open with big windows to watch the ocean and wildlife. This trip, we made use of many of the jigsaw puzzles. Thanks so much for having us.

This is our favorite house to rent. Ocean views and sounds, beautiful wood walls, spacious kitchen, stone fireplace (with good dry wood, thank you!), nice hot tub in the lovely enclosed garden. Good wifi for working. Some wildlife to watch. As long a bluff walk as one wishes (we did two 5 mile walks), not far from Salt Point for additional walks, and great cookies from TwoFish bakery at Stewarts Point. Perfect retreat.

Stayed with friends here for a short, catch up visit. Plenty of room for all of us. Plenty of dishes, glassware, flatware, basic spices, and other kitchen supplies. Everything worked as expected, hot tub was clean and comfy. Would be helpful to update the listing to include the bbq. Also, having to go to Gualala for parking passes was a bit of a hassle when we wanted to relax and enjoy the view. Will definitely stay here again.
