Forest Escape - Quiet and private. 10 minutes to Devil's Lake SP & Devil's Head

It was everything promised and more! Local wildlife walked by the big patio windows in the morning. The house itself was incredibly beautiful and well maintained. Acres of woods surrounded the property giving it the illusion that we were in the middle of nowhere, but we were only about 10 minutes away from town. It was very hard to leave.

This is a beautiful home in a secluded woodsy area. Yet only a few miles from shopping in Baraboo and from Devil's Lake State Park. We hit the height of fall tree colors and loved seeing the beauty out the many downstairs windows. The house was one of the best rentals we had. Perfect for our BFF retreat.

This place is nice, located in a beautiful, secluded location. Chances are you will enjoy your stay. You will pay a good amount of cleaning fee but also need to take your trash with you since there is no dumpster nearby. We had to carry our trash in our car until we found a public garbage bin.Although our stay was enjoyable, post-stay experience was anything but. The host charged us 250 dollars for a damaged towel hanger, which did not occur during our stay. The host does not stay at the property but uses a third party service for maintenance and he falsely accused of us causing the damage based on their reporting.The pre-existing damage was minor enough that my friends did not think much of it let alone feel the need to report it when they first saw it. We were accused because a third party noticed an existing damage after our stay and we were then asked to prove our innocence. I don’t think this is reasonable. By this logic, the host would be able to charge any damage that has gone unnoticed to the next guest. I don’t believe he would; this is just to demonstrate the weakness of the logic. The host also suggested perhaps my friends were not being honest when they said the damage was already there because he trusts his cleaning personnel. The same argument could be made against his team, however. Or simply that the damage was done by a previous guest, pushed the towel hanger back to fix the damage, and it slowly deteriorated. But he would hear none of it.

The house and property are lovely. The house is updated and modern and the property is secluded and really pretty.The location is nice also. The cleanliness was not the best, particularly the rugs and floors which I communicated to the owner when we arrived and he responded that he would let the cleaning lady know about it. That was it. A second tv or having the tv in the living room would have been nice as the tv room is not very comfortable. While what is listed as amenities are provided, they are minimal. We did need to go to the store for more of what we thought there would be enough of.

This is a very comfortable house in a great location— minutes from several great hikes in the woods. It’s minutes from Baraboo, which offers good restaurants. This was our third stay in this house and each one has been wonderful.

Great place.

This is a beautiful home in a nice quiet area of the country. The house had plenty of room and had everything we needed. It was so nice and quiet to relax out back, make dinner on the grill and relax with a fire in the firepit.The screened in back porch was a nice bonus too.We will stay here again when in the area.Also all questions to the host were quickly answered.

The house itself will not disappoint. It is a beautiful design and offers well-built spaces--an impressive main bedroom, a TV room, two other good bedrooms, and a screened-in porch. The kitchen and dining area are attractive.The setting is serene and private.Our only suggestion--This is the second time we've stayed here and we find that the house could use more furniture and more comfortable furniture. The rooms are sparsely furnished and need more attention to guest needs for comfort and storage. A gem of a house that could use just a little more attention to amenities.

It's nice, quiet, humble house in the woods--close enough to Baraboo, but way out in the woods enough to get some peace and quiet. There's a fire pit, charcoal grill, screened-in porch, and full kitchen to enjoy. You just have to bring all your own food and drinks, but there's more than enough room in the fridge & freezer.

Home was beautiful, property was in a great spot in the woods. Loved all the natural light, and the campfires in the back fire pit.

A perfect location in Baraboo close. We hiked Devils Lake, Parfrey’s Glen and Pewit’s Nest. The house was very fitting for our 3 couples get away. Clean, comfortable, and peaceful! The owner Cal was very thorough with check-in info and responsive. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay.

Very comfortable and private rental with easy access to Baraboo, Devils Lake, Wisconsin Dells and nearby hiking trails. Neighborhood is quiet but close to main roads. You will also see plenty of deer and possibly wild turkeys as we did. Excellent!

A lovely place in the forest, for a good night sleep. Easy communication and check in. Updated, clean and cozy, home with comfortable beds and truly quiet nights. Close to Baraboo, trails and everything the area offers.

The property is amazing. The location is peaceful and nice. Loved the screened in porch to watch wildlife.

We had 3 couples there for our stay, there was plenty of room for all of us for dining, relaxing, even the bathrooms are surprisingly large! The location can’t be beat, we were a few miles from the park, downtown Baraboo and many restaurants. We watched deer wander thru the yard each morning, it’s a peaceful quiet environment close to everything!

Great place to stay. Very quiet location which was nice. Plenty of room. If we went back to the area on another vacation we would check to see if this home was available again.

This was such a cute house and the surrounding woods were beautiful. Highly recommend.

This was our second stay on this property, and it was even better than the first. We are in love with with the back porch, which sits right In the woods. We saw wild turkey and deer while sitting out there. The home itself is very comfortable and clean, and the lovely little town of Baraboo is just a short drive away. We hope to stay here again.
