Stayed Jun 21, 2025We recently stayed at this 4-bedroom, 2-bath house on the inlet in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. While the location itself is beautiful—right on the inlet with a dock and just a short walk to the beach—the condition of the house left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the home was not clean upon arrival, and we encountered several major issues during our stay. The central air conditioning didn’t work, which made the house very uncomfortable in the summer heat. The rental company did respond by bringing window units for each bedroom, which helped somewhat, but didn’t resolve the underlying issue. The house is in serious need of updates and repairs. Electrical outlets are dangerously outdated—most won’t hold a charger, and plugging in a fan in the downstairs living area caused the power to trip and all lights to go out. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, sagging in the middle, and one bed frame actually fell apart during our stay. The kitchen was poorly stocked, and the cookware that was available was in such bad shape it was basically unusable. Definitely bring your own if you plan to cook. Major mold in one bathroom in corner of floor. Window in front room has rotten wood frame. While we appreciated the dock and the proximity to the beach, these features couldn’t make up for the overall lack of upkeep and basic functionality in the home. Until major upgrades and repairs are made, I would not recommend this property.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved the location, walking distance to the beach and some restaurants. A lovely garden with an outdoor shower and view of the ICW as well! All that said, stay at your own risk. We showed up to unfinished, mudded ceilings, laundry bags in the driveway that stayed as long as we did, and dinged up walls and furniture. Corners seem to be being cut here. It’s too bad, because it could be truly exceptional.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We loved the layout of the house itself with a big kitchen, 2 seating areas and 4 BR’s that slept our family of 8 comfortably! We also loved the location… not too far from the beach as well as being on a canal so close to the intercoastal! The hot tub was a hit and the fenced yard was great for the dogs as well! Will be back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We have always stayed oceanfront at Holden, but with a last minute decision for a beach trip, we found this home on the waterway. We were concerned, before making the trip, that it wouldn’t be our typical vacation by not having oceanfront. We ended up totally loving it and its location. We were able to walk to the beach, sunset slush, and to a public dock area with picnic tables. The street is very quiet and everyone on the street was so friendly. Watching the boats go by was an added bonus. I highly recommend this home.

Stayed Jun 29, 2024Seems the owner is trying very hard to skimp on everything. Other than a good collection of wine glasses and decent plates the kitchen is painfully under stocked. A bunch of mismatched crap plastic glasses, flimsy silverware and a random collection of pots and pans that look to have been collected at various yard sales. Outdoor furnishings badly in need of upgrade. All mattresses hard as rocks. And considering that you can buy 42 TVs for less than $200, having no TV in any bedroom is ridiculous. And to top it off the front door lock (which automatically re-locks itself) requires a TEN digit entry code but almost always malfunctions before you can enter all 10 digits; rendering the front door unusable and requiring that you leave the side door unlocked just to be sure you'll be able to get back in. The house/rooms are fairly large, it was clean, but such wasted potential...

Stayed Jun 3, 2023House is located across from inlet and was centrally located. Enjoyed watching the boats pass by and the public beach access was close. Great home for a family to make memories! Beds were to firm for our taste.
