Stayed Sep 7, 2024My elderly parents and I stayed for two weeks in the lovely Maison Rouge in Tréboul and enjoyed every minute. The house is in one of the little streets between Port de Plaisance and the Plage de Sable Blanc. It is a very quiet residential area with many locals living along the street. Having been to Douarnenez multiple times, we were thrilled to stay in a real Breton cottage. It is a historical building, but has been refurbished thoroughly. The house is beautifully furbished and is very spacious. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you need, pots and pans, cutlery and other cooking equipment are abundant. There is a small bathroom on the ground floor and a larger one with a shower on the first floor. The bedrooms are on the first and second floor. Overall, the house can accomodate up to six people and possible a toddler, as well (there is a cot on the top floor). There is plenty of room for clothes and luggage. There is a surprisingly roomy and very prettily kept garden behind the house. Visitors can use garden furniture from the shack (there is a large terrace that is accessible from the kitchen) and even a small barbecue. Yann, the owner, was very friendly, let us know all relevant information ahead of time, and was swiftly available for questions. He and his family seem to live at least part-time in the house and provide visitors with a lot of information. We can absolutely recommend the lovely little house and will be happy to return!
