Beds, linens, dishes - everything was in excellent condition and very comfortable. We loved spending our days hiking, then relaxing in front of the fireplace on the reclining (!!) couch. The screened in porch was lovely during a few rain showers, and on sunny days we enjoyed sitting on the deck and looking out into the woods. Another nice feature is that there is a small path in the back that leads down to a bench by the creek. We didn't have a dog with us, but this is definitely a dog-friendly property. But even for two people with no pets, this was an unparalleled stay! Best of Canaan is wonderful to work with, they are the only people we rent from in the Canaan Valley, always responsive and always knowledgeable.

Located at the back of the Timberline community, it is very private and backs to the Wildlife Refuge. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather in early June and enjoyed outings to Blackwater Falls SP, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley SP. Don't miss the great ice cream at the Ice Cream Shop in Davis.

This year has been rough for us and the down time that came with the rainy weather was just what we needed. Lazy S is a beautiful spot to just enjoy some solitude. It is nice to not hear sirens all night, or blasting music. We love being back in the trees.

And it is always great to be able to access Dolly Sods from the gated community access trailhead on Valley View. The house itself is perfect for our needs. A great size with all the household items you could need. We will definitely be back.

It was nice to have 4 bathrooms and everything on one floor. The fenced in yard was perfect. Only issue was beds were a bit firm and high (which is not good for doggies) They did have stairs that weren't quite high enough and a ramp that was usable but broken in one spot, but couldn't get dog to be comfortable using it. Overall probably the nicest place we have stayed so far. Spruce Island and Sand Run lakes are beautiful and very nice to be in a safe gated community.

It was nice to sit on the porch and listen to the wind blowing thru the trees. House is nicely appointed. The staff at Best of Canaan were very easy to work with. I would densely recommend this house. The front yard is fenced, so my dogs had a great view of wildlife. Already made reservation for next year.

I appreciate the owner’s willingness to let us stay for such a long visit.The location felt like we were in our very own secluded home. It was surrounded by a wooded area on all four corners of the house! We had miles of trails surrounding us, which we took advantage of! At the end of a short road, there was a small lake that had a trail around it, as well.The rental had every amenity anyone could ever need! The kitchen did not need a single item for cooking! The beds were extremely comfortable, and were perfect for the six of us. When any assistance was needed, the management company had employees that were very helpful. The staff at Best of Canaan take great care of you. This house is well appointed, the beds are so comfortable and the pillows are too, so much so my husband wants to buy the same pillow for home. The kitchen has everything thing you need. It is tucked in the trees next to the conservancy and it is very quiet. The house also has AC, which many do not, so you would be cool even if it is very warm out. We will definitely stay here again.
